The end of a copier lease is not one event. It is whichever ending the paperwork already spells out.

The machine goes back on a truck. Or it becomes available to buy, and the agreement decides how that price gets set. Or the term rolls into month to month and the payments keep going.

Those are different bills, and the agreement says which one applies. Worth reading the end-of-term section well ahead of the date rather than the week of it.

A copier lease has two jobs behind it. One company finances the equipment for the length of the term. One company services it.

Sometimes that is one company. Sometimes it is two.

That distinction matters the first morning something goes wrong and the question is who to call first. Worth knowing before then: whose name is on the monthly payment, whose name is on the service, and which number goes with which.
