It’s National Pizza Month, and we’re celebrating with a design that puts pizza front and center. 🍕

Smith Design developed the package design for a club-store Detroit-Style Deep Dish Double Pepperoni Pizza 2-Pack, highlighting the thick, crispy crust, melted cheese, and pepperoni. A clean background, clear product communication, and bold appetite appeal come together across every panel to create a cohesive design that makes this product stand out in the club channel.

At Smith Design, coming together as a team means more than what we accomplish at work, it also means showing up for causes that matter. ❤️

This month, our team participated in Light The Night in support of Blood Cancer United, an organization dedicated to advancing research for leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma while providing critical resources and support to patients and their families. With someone in the U.S. diagnosed with blood cancer every three minutes, this work is more important than ever.

Together, our team raised $3,180 with an additional $2,500 contributed from Smith Design, bringing our total to $5,680!

We’re proud of what we accomplished together and grateful to everyone who contributed to advancing research and bringing us closer to better treatment and cures. Our team fundraising page will remain open through January for anyone who would still like to contribute

Growing a stronger community together. 🌱

Last week, the Smith Design team spent the afternoon volunteering with Grow It Green Morristown Grow It Green Morristown, a local organization focused on sustainable farming and building a stronger, more connected community. We helped care for their Early Street Community Garden by weeding and covering unused garden beds, clearing vines from the fencing, picking up litter, and building a brand-new kiosk display for the garden’s entrance.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to work together to give back locally alongside an organization doing such meaningful work. We had a great time volunteering at the garden and wrapped up the day back at the office with a happy hour and custom pizzas for the team from Sapori d’Italia’s pizza truck! 🍕

72% of online shoppers swipe through product carousels when browsing an item, making visual storytelling more important than ever. When designed with purpose, carousels highlight key benefits, build trust, and drive conversion.

That’s the approach we brought to our collaboration with the SunnyD Vodka Seltzer. The Smith Design team created dynamic e-commerce carousel assets that captured the bold personality of Tangy Orange and extended across digital, retail, and experiential touchpoints for a cohesive omnichannel launch built to perform.

Sauce, styling, and a little creativity 🤌🍝

Here at Smith Design, we partnered with Victoria Fine Foods to design the packaging for Recipe d’Italia, a new line of ready-to-use sauces inspired by the flavors and culinary traditions of four iconic Italian regions, with illustrations that draws on the timeless charm of traditional European postcards.

Shot and styled entirely at our in-house studio, this photoshoot showcased the ingredients, flavors, and personality behind Victoria Sauce.

Dill pickle and everything bagel aren't going anywhere, which is exactly why Green Giant’s limited-edition line tapped into these trending flavors.

For Dill Pickle Seasoned Roasted Potatoes and Everything Bagel Seasoned Green Beans & Potatoes, that meant breaking from Green Giant's typical packaging architecture. Rather than working within the brand's established system, the Smith Design team designed something bolder and more playful, built specifically to capture the personality of these flavors and stand out as a true limited-edition moment on shelf.

A fresh look for an iconic favorite. ✨

We partnered with Crisco to reimagine the brand experience from shelf to screen. A refreshed packaging system gives the iconic brand a more contemporary look, while a 0:30 Connected TV campaign and a full website redesign extends that evolution across every consumer touchpoint. The result is a cohesive brand experience that celebrates Crisco's heritage while showcasing the versatility, great taste, and everyday benefits of its all-vegetable shortening through a fresh, approachable lens.

And with Miranda Lambert’s new song and upcoming album Crisco bringing its own recipe to the name, we’d say Crisco is having a moment. 🎶
