Today is Kentucky Gives Day. This is an annual day of online giving to support Kentucky nonprofits.

The nonprofit that I work with is the American Cave Conservation Association (ACCA). We are a national nonprofit organization devoted to cave conservation and education. We also operate Hidden River Cave/American Cave Museum in Horse Cave, Kentucky. ACCA was instrumental in the cleanup and recovery of Hidden River Cave, formerly known as "one of the most polluted caves in America." Today the cave serves as a "living exhibit" at the American Cave Museum and is now referred to as “the greatest cave restoration success story in the United States.”

If you, or someone you know is interested in nature and conservation, this is a very worthy organization.

Getting ready to make my annual pumpkin pies, aided by my Grandmother, Betsy's recipe, (modified numerous times), her old flour sifter, and a hand-carved rolling pin which dates back to a Great, or Great, Great Grandmother on my Dad's side.

Fortunately, I didn't need the extra brown sugar I purchased this week ... as Harrison decided to pull that off the counter and help himself to some. 🙄

Jeff and are are thankful for each of you who have kept in touch with us over the years. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, if you are celebrating, and if not, a great rest of your week!

Very excited to share these photos of a branding project that DLS Graphics (aka Me😎) designed for Hidden River Cave/American Cave Museum!

A huge thank you to John at JRS Printing LLC in Frankfort, Kentucky for the printing and installation. Hidden River Cave/American Cave Museum - Kentucky Nonprofit Website Design

2021 has already been full of changes for me. I am so happy to be working again with the American Cave Conservation Association (ACCA), a national nonprofit organization that is devoted to the protection of caves, karstlands and groundwater.

I worked with ACCA for 13 years in the past as their Associate Director, so this organization and their mission are close to my heart. After more than a decade hiatus working on my music and honing my graphic/web design skills, I started working part-time last month with my first project being this website.

It is great to be once again working in the nonprofit sector, putting my skills to use to help save the environment. Second Story’s mission is implementing a holistic approach to ending the cycle of homelessness in families and young adults aging out of foster care in Middle Tennessee. Their vision is to create a housing community and support network for young adults aging out of the foster network in Middle Tennessee, and families currently housed in temporary shelters.
