Lately I've been getting a lot of questions about internet service. There has been a tremendous amount of people wanting to dump a certain company. In the Mountain Grove and surrounding area you don't have a lot of options if you're looking for unlimited Broadband use. When I say unlimited I am speaking of how much data you can use a month. This is critical when deciding which internet service to go with. There are 3 options for unlimited internet access and none of which are for everyone. I guess I better start first with CenturyLink. They do offer DSL internet service. The bill will range from $30 to whatever else they can squeeze out of you. Your service will either be fairly decent or crap. There's not much in the middle anymore. If you're within the city limits of Mountain Grove you can get cable America which has Fairly reliable service. Some say it is great and some have a lot of problems with it so I cannot tell you one way or the other. They do offer the fastest service in the area. You will have to have a cable modem / router instead of the regular DSL router. Be prepared for that one. The next up is what I use. Total Highspeed which is based out of Nixa Missouri and all of your text and calls will be in good old Missouri. They offer internet service to everybody that can get it. I would have to say it's a rock solid connection 90% of the time. Their internet is a wisp which is wireless internet. You have to be within 8 miles of their Tower or a relay station. The closer you are to the Tower and the better visibility to the tower equals the better internet reception. Some people can get it and some people cannot. More cannot then can in some situations when speaking long distance from Highway 60. The cost of the internet starts at $50 even with no tax. You will have a $150 setup fee but all service afterwards is free. As far as I know they still offer a 30-day money-back back guarantee it may be down to 15 days though by the time you're reading this. The other drawback would be the speed. Their plan is .5 megabytes per second which cannot stream a Netflix show without buffering. If you have a better signal to the tower the basic package will be a little faster and you will be able to stream.
I guess your next option is satellite which I don't even really want to get into because it is a messed up Affair of multiple companies using the same satellite and software but slapping the different logos on it. Currently I do not know of any satellite services for unlimited internet within a reasonable budget therefore I cannot recommend a company.
Hope this helps. You do have options such as wireless hotspots from the cell phone carriers but you will have limited gigabytes per month. Be very aware that you will not be doing any streaming with this on a regular basis unless you're relatively Rich :-)

If you get a pop-up screen that claims your computer is infected call 188 whatever number and talk to Microsoft. It is a scam. Go to the bottom of your screen on your taskbar. Right click. Click task manager. Click Microsoft Edge or whatever browser you are using. Click end task. You are likely now fixed. If it does not it is because there is a lingering file. Do it again and restart. if it goes much further than that it may be one of the tougher ones that require our help. if you need help with this issue give us a call. 417-259-0556
