Our Silicon Valley Campus (SVC) is now open, and on June 16 and 18, 2022, we held Grand Opening events to celebrate the new space. Employees and guests from around the company and beyond came to Mountain View to mark the occasion.

SVC is Microsoft's smartest and greenest office yet because of the innovative, eco-friendly technologies incorporated throughout the building.

Pride has no borders.

LGBTQIA+ communities represent a diverse group of people, whose experiences vary and intersect across different cultures, regions, races, ethnicities, faiths, and more.

No town is too small, no village is too remote for Pride. And though some may try to confine or legislate against the LGBTQIA+ communities, Microsoft employees invite everyone to join in the actions and calls for justice and equity across all borders – be they geographical, societal, or ideological.

By supporting employees through an inclusive workplace, global advocacy, and charitable giving, we’re working to make a difference for LGBTQIA+ communities and beyond, as our drive for positive global impact continues.

Learn more about this work, read stories, and celebrate Pride with love from Surface, Xbox, Office apps, Microsoft Store, Microsoft Rewards, Bing, and much more: www.unlocked.microsoft.com.

Happy Pride!

"The Microsoft Bay Area Runners Club started with Luc responding to a message I left on Strava, asking if anyone at the SVC campus would be interested in going for a run. When we settled on a date, I posted an invitation over Teams, and Craig joined us for the first run. Hyan joined us for the next run. And the rest is history. We’re now approximately 30 members." — Emilio Reyes Le Blanc, Technology Specialist at Microsoft

“Even before the pandemic, I had gotten used to working remotely for over three years and being the one person who called in while everyone else was in the room. I used to voluntarily travel every other month to Redmond, to stay connected with my team and partners.

When the new SVC campus opened, I wasn't so sure about leaving my personalized space. I had just upgraded to make my home office more inspiring and comfortable to work from. I was unsure about going in, but I gave it a try.

Now I've found a good rhythm, and I now do three and a half days in the office. I bring a few pieces from home to make it feel more like me.

I've organized my office schedule around coworker interaction, something I've really missed even pre-Covid. I come in Monday for half the day and run with coworkers on the Shoreline trail. I spend full days in the office Tuesday through Thursday and break up the day with coffee/juice breaks and lunches with new people.

Although I'm coming to ten years at Microsoft in May, it feels like a new start for me, as I'm finally meeting others, and am energized by the change.” — Hyan Kim, Free to Paid Customer Journey Lead on the M365 Subscription team at Microsoft.

The theme for this year's Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is “Dimensions.”

During this Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we ask the question: what does it mean to be an Asian or Pacific Islander?

Being an Asian or Pacific Islander means honoring the past through custom, tradition, and reverence for ancestors. It means investing in the future through education, community, and innovation.

It is the roaring energy of pride and the quiet power of humility. It is believing in the rewards of dedicated work and trusting in the prospect of good luck. It means dignity. It means hope.

This May, we celebrate this global community and the many dimensions of the people within it.

Throughout the month of May, the Military at Microsoft ERG recognizes and the sacrifices that members of our community make in service.

Members put service before themselves, giving important years of their life to the military and spending precious time away from family, friends, and their home.

Words, while important, can sometimes fall short in expressing gratitude for this level of commitment. Service members want to return from their service respected, supported, and proud. More than anything, they want opportunities to succeed and thrive in their post-military life.

For Military Appreciation Month, we all have an opportunity at Microsoft to listen and learn from employees who have served so that we can go beyond words to become better allies to the military community.
