Be Aware of emails indicating your Norton Life Lock subscription has updated and you will be charged and included a phone number to call if you want to cancel. Things to look for.
1. Return email address is strange like a .co
2. Strange sentence wording, ie, To cancel, be in touch with:
3. Wrong pricing amount, which can be verified at Norton.com

If you receive an email like this, don't reply to it, don't call the phone number. If you are a subscriber login to you account and check your to see when it expires. Norton or any other company will never give you a phone number to call to cancel, but will have you go online to do that.

As always, if it looks funny, or suspicious it probably is.

Be Aware of the latest texting Smishing scams. Remember
Never give your information to anyone online, via txt service or via phone.

Text message scams are becoming more common, and the latest scam we’ve seen is the most sophisticated yet. The scammer impersonates Verizon, sending you an “account security” text message that takes you to a shockingly convincing copy of Verizon’s website.

Wow, Latest FB scam. • A new Facebook scam tricks users into thinking they’re donating money to terrorist organizations: Using products like Facebook Messenger, scammers are hitting up unsuspecting users and forging pseudo-friendships and later ask for a small bit of money. The next day, the scammers call the users claiming to be law enforcement, telling the user they’re guilty of donating to terrorists. Then they tell the user they’re entitled to a lawyer—for a $1000 retainer. Jeeeez

Continue to be aware of new phone scams. The latest are calls leaving messages asking you to call a phone number to get a refund on an earlier service scam. Also just starting to popup are calls asking to call a number after advising your credit card has been charged to renew an anti-virus software package. Do not engage, these are scams! If you do have a software package that is on auto renewal you will receive an email, also check your CC charges to see valid charges.

If you have gotten an email from your machlink or other email address that appears to be from you and references a password you have used in the past and the content says they have your data and demand a BitCoin ransome... it is a scam. The email address and password were from a data breach from a few a few years ago. If you are still using that password please change it. Also monitor your CC’s and banking on a regular basis.

Scam of a Scam?? What are you talking about. The latest in scams is phone calls offering people refunds if they were taken advantage of by a fake technology scam popup, phone call etc. This is also a scam! Think back to some of the original scams like getting money from a "Nigerian Prince", sending money for processing, finding out its a scam and then getting another phone call offering a refund on what you had been scammed out of, but you have to send more money! Scam of a Scam. Scammers don't give refunds....It's another scam!
