The future of hotel tech is not another PBX.

For years, "upgrading" hotel communications has meant swapping one phone system for a slightly newer one. Same job, same limits - just a different box on the wall.

Hotels deserve more than a system that survives. They deserve one that evolves: connects to the rest of the operation, adapts as the property changes, and helps solve real problems instead of only routing calls.
That shift is coming - and we're bringing it to HITEC 2026.

Most hotel groups measure ROI property by property.

That’s usually where the math goes wrong.

The real return often isn’t in the first install, first invoice, or first year.
It’s in what happens after: when the next 10, 20, or 50 properties become easier to support, easier to train, and easier to compare.

Recent hospitality reporting keeps pointing to the same issue: fragmented systems create inefficiency, and integration remains one of the biggest pain points for hotel operators.

That’s why standardization matters.

Not because every hotel should feel the same.
But because the invisible layers of the group - systems, workflows, reporting, support models - should stop working against each other.

We wrote a short article on why standardization across a hotel group is the real ROI, and why the biggest return usually comes from making the next property easier to run, not just the first one.

Most hotel phone systems don’t feel ā€œinsecure.ā€

Until the bill arrives.
Or a trunk gets abused.
Or someone realizes international dialing was open the whole time.

The telecom industry lost $41.82 billion to fraud in 2025.

And some SIP environments are less protected than people assume.
Cisco notes that if no SIP trunk security profile is assigned, a nonsecure profile can be applied by default.

That’s why hotel voice security basics matter:

- strong password policy
- geo restrictions
- MFA
- secure SIP settings
- tested emergency calling

None of it is glamorous.
But all of it protects revenue, operations, and guest trust.

We wrote a short article on the basics of securing hotel voice - and why this is more of an operations issue than an IT one.

Hotels have more ways to communicate than ever… yet the phone still drives a huge chunk of guest requests.

The real question is not: ā€œis the hotel phone dead?ā€
It is: "has the phone lost relevance - or just changed?"

Join our Live Webinar where we will break down what a modern hotel PBX should do in 2026, and how to keep guest communication fast, reliable, and operationally useful.

AI shouldn’t replace hospitality.
AI should protect hospitality.

Guests don’t complain because your team isn’t trying. They complain because they can’t reach anyone, they wait too long, or their request disappears between departments.

AI can fix that, without turning your service into a robot experience.

Three rules we follow when designing hotel AI:
šŸ”ø Speed for the simple stuff. Guests want instant answers for routine needs. AI should deliver ā€œzero-waitā€ basics across voice and messaging.
šŸ”ø Humans for high-stakes moments. When it’s personal, complex, or emotional, AI should step aside - fast.
šŸ”ø Consistency across every channel. Whether a guest calls, texts, or uses web chat, they should get the same answers, the same tone, and the same next step.

The goal isn’t ā€œmore automation.ā€ The goal is more time for staff to be present with guests.

Question: Where would AI help your hotel most; after-hours coverage, handling FAQs, or routing service requests to the right department?
