QUAVERATO Firmware Back on GitHub...

A bunch of you have emailed us asking for the Quaverato source code, so we figured it was time to stop sending it out one request at a time. 🙂

Quaverato has always been a pedal you can build yourself. Now we’ve made it a whole lot easier to dig into the firmware and make it your own, too.

We’ve given the code a pretty serious overhaul, cleaned it up and modularized it, and added a LOT of documentation for building and flashing it in different environments.

So… it’s public again. Quaverato firmware v2.5.1 is now on GitHub under GPL-3.0.

And we’re not done with it yet. We’ve got more planned for Quaverato, and we’ll be sharing some of that soon.

Have fun with the code — and if you make it do something interesting, we definitely want to hear about it.

🔍 CAUGHT ON CORTADO: A retired Apple engineer turned "Gentleman Scientist" is using a Cortado to hunt a ghost.

Rick had a mystery on his hands — a chaotic, unexplained tick in Porsche engines that owners had noticed for years but nobody could explain. Standard broadcast mics couldn't isolate it from the roar of fans and exhaust. So he reached for a Cortado.

He epoxied a magnet to a ferrous bolt on the bottom of the engine, clamped the Cortado to it, and recorded the exhaust note separately to track the ticks against engine rotation. The contact mic pulled a faint, fast, structure-borne signal cleanly out of one of the noisiest mechanical environments imaginable — and the phase data points to a culprit beyond the engine itself. 👀
