Have you met Andrew?
Andrew is a lifelong Indiana Jones fan, who enjoys driving anything with at least two wheels and working on his ‘77 International Scout Traveler. He's the type of person to obsess over a subject, until he not only knows everything about it, but is a master at it as well.
Seriously...as a teenager this guy taught himself oil painting, fly tying, photography, and how to play multiple instruments. He also happens to be a highly skilled and driven designer with a passion for custom signage fabrication. Andrew can be found most evenings either posted up on the couch between his two kids playing Legend of Zelda or avidly researching his latest project.
If you're looking for some back story on the owner of Radtron, look no further. Andrew worked for years as a commercial photographer and web developer, before his hobby of refurbishing axes and making leather goods led him to successfully start a small business producing handmade men's accessories. By 2016, the business had grown into its first brick and mortar location, and had expanded to a full service men's apparel and gear retailer. A few years later, Andrew became the Senior Brand Manager at New Legend 4x4.
Most recently, Andrew worked for Luke Stockdale as the Art Director at Sideshow Sign Co., where he was responsible for creating some of the most iconic and eye-catching signage in the Nashville area. In early 2020, Sideshow closed its doors, and Andrew has since transitioned into what is now Radtron Studio.
When asked what his favorite part of signage design and fabrication is, Andrew says, "In general, seeing a 2D concept become a 3D object…but, most specifically, carefully finishing a material to look like something it’s not - like foam into limestone, or aluminum into bronze. I love the idea of elevating humble materials into finished works of art that have some practical utility. That’s what signage is for me."
