⚠️ Phishing Emails Are on the Rise
We’ve seen a noticeable increase in phishing emails over the last few weeks, and some of them are becoming much harder to spot.
One tactic to be especially cautious of is the “Man-in-the-Middle” attack. In simple terms, this is when an attacker gets between you and a legitimate communication or website, allowing them to intercept information, redirect you, or trick you into providing credentials. Usually this can be spotted if you pay close attention to the URL that you are redirected to. It will appear to be Microsoft, but under a different domain name.
Another warning sign we’re seeing is unexpected encrypted emails. While encryption itself is a good security practice, an unexpected encrypted message can sometimes be used to hide a malicious link, attachment, or login request.
🚨 Our recommendation: Don’t open unexpected encrypted emails.
If you receive an encrypted message that you weren’t expecting:
* ❌ Don’t click links or open attachments.
* ❌ Don’t enter your username or password after clicking from the email.
* ❌ Don’t assume that because an email is encrypted, it is safe.
* ✅ Contact the sender through a known, trusted method to verify it.
* ✅ When in doubt, contact your IT provider before opening it.
Remember: Attackers only need you to make one mistake. Taking an extra minute to verify an email can save you from a compromised account, stolen credentials, or a much bigger security problem.
