Why would a client organization pay someone to engage in my program?
It often comes down to one of three things:
1. Save Time
2. Make More Money
3. Develop a Differentiator
highlighted on LinkedIn, why thinking like about the "cost" the learner is paying in time and money can drastically change your design approach.
"I've found that by evaluating my courses through the lens of "why would my learner's company pay them to take my class" I often get lazer focused on why I'm making what I'm making.
Many times I start my courses with a learner-only lens, and think about the experience, production factor, engagement, etc..
All incredibly valid points.
Also, increases the aesthetics and nice-to-have list by a lot.
So, I've stepped back in our planning and design sessions and asked the question -
Why are they "buying?"
Not only are they "paying us" (or my company's client) to get certified, trained, etc... BUT they are also paying their team to go through it.
So it must serve and directly correlate to time, money, or differentiating capability."
