This Memorial Day feels heavier.

Maybe it is because as the years go by, we carry more names in our hearts. More memories. More stories of those who never made it home.

At Honor Box Studios, we believe every life leaves behind a legacy. Every uniform tells a story. Every sacrifice echoes through generations.

Memorial Day is not simply about flags, ceremonies, or a long weekend. It is about remembering the men and women who gave everything for something greater than themselves. It is about honoring the families who continue living with the silence left behind.

Because while the world moves forward, many never truly get to move on.

There are mothers still waiting for one more conversation.
Children growing up with memories instead of moments.
Spouses carrying both pride and heartbreak at the same time.
Friends and brothers and sisters in arms still replaying the last goodbye.

The weight of freedom has always been carried by someone.

And for many families, that weight never leaves.

Today, we pause for all of them.
Not just for their service, but for their humanity.
For the dreams they carried.
For the lives they lived.
For the love they left behind.

At Honor Box Studios, we understand that remembrance matters because people matter. Preserving stories, honoring legacies, and speaking their names is one small way we ensure they are never forgotten.

Gone from our sight.
Forever in our hearts.
Always remembered. 🇺🇸

There are moments in life where you realize… this is bigger than you.

And this is one of them.

At Honor Box Studios, we are truly honored to support the mission of Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation through this upcoming SOF Auction.

Because this isn’t just about a handcrafted box.

It’s about who it represents.

For this auction, we are proud to present our upgraded Gold Package, starting at $2,500, featuring a 30mm can Honor Box—a powerful, one-of-a-kind piece designed to preserve the legacy of a veteran in a way that words alone never could.

Every detail is intentional.
Every piece is personal.
Every box tells a story.

And through this collaboration, that story now gives back to those who have carried the weight of the mission—both in service and at home.

Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation continues to show us what it means to put **people first**—supporting Special Operations Forces and their families as they navigate life beyond the uniform with renewed mission, purpose, and focus.

We don’t take this lightly.

To be trusted with someone’s story…
To help honor a life of service…
To give families something they can hold onto forever…

That is why we do what we do.

If you’ve ever wanted to be part of something meaningful—this is it.

Your support doesn’t just win an item.

It helps preserve a legacy and support those who have given everything.

For over a decade, Cubic has brought together the SOF community, industry partners, and supporters during SOF Week in Tampa—creating a space to connect, give back, and make an impact in support of Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation (TFDSOF) and the families we serve.

This isn’t just a box.
This is a story being restored.

What you’re seeing behind the scenes is Robert “Scotty” Scott—one of our co-founders—handcrafting a Vietnam Honor Box from start to finish. Every cut, every placement, every detail is done with intention.

This isn’t just a box.
This is a story being restored.

What you’re seeing behind the scenes is Robert “Scotty” Scott—one of our co-founders—handcrafting a Vietnam Honor Box from start to finish. Every cut, every placement, every detail is done with intention.

Because building a legacy piece for a Vietnam Veteran isn’t about the object… it’s about honoring a story that wasn’t always honored when it should have been.

For many Vietnam Veterans, coming home didn’t come with recognition. It came with silence.

Recently, a family came to us with a request—to build an Honor Box for their father, a Vietnam Veteran.
But due to overwhelming medical costs, they simply couldn’t move forward.

So we did.

We donated the box.

Because some stories can’t wait.
Because some legacies deserve to be honored while they can still be seen, held, and felt.

This… this is how we respond.

We take the time to:
• Recognize service that was delayed
• Preserve a story that deserves to be remembered
• Create something families can hold onto for generations
• Honor not just one Veteran—but the brotherhood beside him

Each box is built by hand. But more importantly—it’s built with respect.

Behind every finished piece is time, care, and a deep understanding that this means something far greater than what you see.

It’s not just craftsmanship.
It’s correction.
It’s remembrance.
It’s legacy.

And we are honored to be a small part of telling that story the right way—especially when it matters most.

Honoring the Unclaimed — A Final Salute That Restores Dignity
In a world that often moves too fast, where stories can be lost and names forgotten, there are moments that remind us of what truly matters.
On April 25, a powerful act of remembrance unfolded as The Final SaluteLLC, a nonprofit founded by President and Founder, Lanae Strovers, laid more than 150 unclaimed individuals to rest—each one a life once lived, a story once unfolding, a name that deserved to be spoken.

These were not just names on urns.
They were veterans, parents, sons, daughters, teachers—people whose lives, for one reason or another, ended without someone to claim them.

Some were discovered in storage units.
Others in funeral homes, basements, or places no one would expect.

And yet, on this day—they were not forgotten.

What makes The Final Salute different is not just the act of burial—it’s the intention behind it.
Volunteers don’t simply lay individuals to rest.
They research their stories.
They speak their names.
They ensure that each person is honored with dignity.
As one reflection shared from the ceremony:
“At the end of the day, the king and the pawn are returned to the same box… every life matters.”
That truth was felt deeply by everyone in attendance.
A symbolic vault, provided for the ceremony, became more than a resting place—it became a living tribute. Attendees were invited to sign their names, turning the structure into a collective promise:

In attendance was a member of Honor Box Studios, Shawn Bertholfstanding in support of The Final Salute’s work—representing a shared commitment to legacy, storytelling, and honoring lives that deserve to be remembered.

This presence matters.

Because whether through handcrafted legacy boxes, storytelling platforms, or ceremonies like this—there is a common thread:

We are responsible for how stories are carried forward.
And sometimes, simply showing up is the most powerful way to ensure those stories are never lost.

From one of our co-founders Shawn Bertholf "I support The Final Salute because we share the same values which includes honoring and respecting service, sacrifice and incredible stories. These stories are deeply personal and should be preserved and honored, not thrown out with the garbage. These stories should be preserved, honored, and passed down down for future generations to appreciate."

Please follow and support The Final Salute

At The Final Salute, we want to provide clarity and transparency about our mission and the work we do.

Each urn entrusted to us is thoroughly researched. These are not cases of individuals being left behind due to nonpayment. In accordance with Iowa law, funeral homes cannot retain remains for that reason, and we take great care to ensure every individual we serve is handled with dignity and respect.

We also want to address why we do not publicly release names. Our priority is honoring the privacy of these individuals and their families. In some cases, families have specifically requested that their loved one be placed in our care through this service. In others, the circumstances surrounding their stories are deeply personal and, at times, difficult. Out of respect for their dignity, we choose not to share those details publicly.

If you are searching for a specific individual, we encourage you to reach out to us directly. We are always willing to assist where we can.

Thank you for your understanding and for supporting our mission to ensure every individual is remembered with honor.

Something big is happening at Honor Box Studios — and we want you to be part of it.

We've been quietly building something worthy of the veterans we serve. Today, we're proud to introduce the team making it happen.

Please join us in welcoming eight incredible people who are stepping into our mission with purpose https://honorboxstudios.com/team/ :

🔹 Jon Macaskill — Strategic Advisory Board Member
Jon's experience, network, and commitment to those who serve make him a cornerstone of our advisory board. We're grateful for his belief in this mission.

🔹Annette Whittenberger— Social Media Marketing Manager
Annette brings the voice and vision to tell our stories where the world can hear them. We're glad to have her leading how HBS shows up online.

🔹 Thomas Long— National Director of Marketing and Sales
Thomas steps into one of the most critical roles at HBS — driving the reach, relationships, and revenue that allow us to keep honoring veterans at scale. Big role. Right person.

🔹 Kevin Jackson — Chief Financial Officer
Kevin's financial leadership gives HBS the foundation to grow without losing what makes us who we are. Sound, disciplined, and mission-aligned.

🔹 Kim Sedano — Administrative (Office) Manager
Kim is the operational backbone that keeps everything running behind the scenes. Every great team needs someone who holds it all together — that's Kim.

🔹 Debrah Plennert — Bookkeeper & Gold Star Wife
Debrah doesn't just keep our books — she understands, firsthand, what this work means. As a Gold Star Wife, she carries the weight of sacrifice in a way that shapes everything she brings to our team. We are honored to have her with us.

🔹 Esther Rose Cauthron — Advisor & Sheriff Deputy
Esther brings the discipline of law enforcement and a heart for service to our advisory team. She knows what it means to take an oath — and to live it out.

🔹 James Moore — Advisor
James brings strategic depth and a steady hand to our leadership circle. We're stronger for his guidance.

To each of you — welcome to the family. The work we do honors those who gave everything. You're now part of making sure their legacy is never forgotten.

"With history in your hands, every box has a story."
