For rental companies, festivals like Festival of the Sun with Rick Rubin are a perfect example of how live production is becoming more complex, fragmented, and demanding.

Shrouded in secrecy until launch, the event unfolded over several days near Siena across a series of exclusive and unconventional locations, including a centuries-old church, a town square, a castle, a cinema forum, and a convention space. Each environment required a different approach, with constantly changing acoustic and production demands.

From an intimate James Blake performance in a highly reverberant church, to high-energy outdoor sets in the square, to talks and screenings in completely different spaces, the production relied on continuous adaptation while maintaining a consistent audience experience.

Across every setting, K-array systems were deployed for clarity, control, and reliability in highly varied conditions.

NEW PROJECT: At Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Firenze, the brief wasn’t to showcase sound - it was to hide it.

Inside Palazzo del Nero, a 16th-century residence, every detail is protected; every surface matters. The challenge was to deliver a complete audio experience without disrupting the historic architecture.

Together with Studio Sound Service s.r.l. and Nueva, K-array approached it as a balance of precision and restraint. Compact systems integrated into walls, woodwork and structure, often requiring entirely custom solutions so the sound is felt, not seen.

The challenge continued in the Conventino, a former chapel now used for events. Its reverberant acoustics and heritage constraints required a system that could deliver clarity and control without altering the space’s character.
