🌟We would like to introduce to you the 2022 Celebration Parade Marshal the one and only Elgin “It’s all Good” Heinemeyer!🌟
He is a proud1960 graduate of Gonzales High School. Elgin served 31 years at the local post office, has been a faithful member of the Gonzales noon lions and served as Deputy District Governor and has attended 4 international conventions, has been a leader of the boy scouts since 1965, assists with maintenance for the Green Dickson Scout Camp, was awarded Citizen of the year, served as past Come and Take It chairman, served as a past board of director of the Chamber of Commerce, Zone Chairman, Member of the Lutheran Church his entire life, Lutheran Church Memorial Chairman and congregation president, cook and volunteer for Gonzales Young Farmer’s Fisher house project, Co-Pilot of the Pilot club and attending the international convention, Historic Homes Tour guide, Santa approved entertainer, and co-owner of Frames and Things for over 20 years.
Please give him a big 🤩*Wave* when you see him in the parade!

Official announcement from the Come and Take It Committee:

⏳After many months of careful consideration and attempts to modify, the Come and Take It Committee is saddened to announce the cancellation of the 2020 Come and Take It Celebration for October 2,3, and 4th.😥

👥After much discussion, the ultimate decision is that the cancellation of the celebration is in the best interest of our community, given the impact of the pandemic.🦠

🌟As a longstanding tradition in the Gonzales region, the Come and Take It Celebration values the health and safety of all event participants, including attendees, sponsors, non-profit organizations, volunteers, vendors, merchants, entertainers, staff and all those who work diligently to make this three-day event an annual success.🌟

🌧While the current circumstances are not ideal, the Come and Take It Committee is already working on the 2021 Event for October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. ☀️

🎡This annual event is not just a gathering on the downtown squares, but it is a traditional community event that brings many people together from all over for fun and fellowship, all while boosting the local economy, businesses, and raising funds for several nonprofits who contribute to various community activities and local scholarships. 🎟

🙏The Come and Take It Committee along with the Gonzales Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture/ Visitor Center, and Gonzales Chamber Board looks forward to welcoming everyone back in 2021. 🍧

Humbled that so many people used their time and resources to print out an idea that started in a text chain, that shared a basic idea, that used it as their profile picture, that put it on their digital signboards, and that carried these pictures around this evening

And thanks to the Gonzales Inquirer for covering events tonight (and where I snagged this screenshot) so people could watch from their homes, both near and far
