A selection of the work that’s been done this semester so far! You’ll notice that there’s 8th grade work in with my high school work. I got the chance to add 8th graders (because NH is growing, and they fit into my schedule!). I have had a blast with this grade and they have driven new challenges! So there is work 8-12th grades in the art cases!

I taught a bookmaking class today! We made Coptic stitch books and they turned out beautifully!!
This is something I teach my high school students because you learn SO MUCH about sewing and making books. It took about 2 1/5 hours or so and was so much fun! I hope I inspired more book making people!

Come make a book with me! I’ll teach you how to sew a Coptic stitch bound book!

Jaxson finished his dragon! It’s 3D, stained glass, and when you pull the string it flies! It was such a challenge, and took a lot of problem solving- but it’s so incredible!!

Feel free to listen to the podcast episode on HAUNTED ART!
Thanks to Justin Adam for all his help and letting us use the amazing equipment for this project!
This was such a fun project!

This episode is about artwork that is haunted. Keziah, Melissa, Aurora, and Cecilia each chose a piece of artwork to research and present to the group. This is a fun and entertaining way to learn about haunted artwork!Pieces of work explored:*Anguished Man*The Hands Resist Him*The Crying Boy*The Gra...

We had the chance to visit Kirkwood to work in the hot glass studio. So glad to be able to do this again!

We made hot glass flowers! 15 students got the experience of hot glass! We worked with glass over 2000 degrees, safely and creatively! Each student got to choose how much they wanted to do of the process, some to all of it. Each one got to make at least one flower with one on one instruction with a Kirkwood glass technician or the Kirkwood Glass Instructor, Christopher Gray.

It’s such an incredible experience and hopefully it inspires my students to keep finding new experiences and maybe they’ll do more glass!
