We’re proud to see the American maritime workforce centered on the national stage.

On Friday, NewsNation and Elizabeth Vargas Reports featured McAllister Towing, a fifth-generation American company whose mariners help keep our ports moving every day, for their American Made special series in honor of America 250.

Hearing the stories directly from the people behind the work is a powerful reminder that maritime policy isn't just about vessels, it's about jobs, families, communities, and the skilled American workforce that powers our industry.

OMSA was proud to connect NewsNation with McAllister Towing to help bring this story to life and showcase the people behind one of America's most essential industries. We appreciate their commitment to highlighting our industry and are grateful for the opportunity to help elevate the voices of the maritime workforce, and a company that has made such a lasting impact on our nation's waterways.

We stand with Manuel. Do you?

Every time a Jones Act waiver is used, it takes work away jobs from American maritime workers and puts it in the hands of low-cost foreign crews. That means decreased income for U.S. mariners, less support for their families, and fewer dollars flowing back into our communities.

It's time to protect American maritime jobs, and stand behind the men and women who keep our industry moving.

Disaster shouldn’t be a profit opportunity. Yet waiver vessels with low‑cost foreign crews are running routes to chase crisis‑driven prices while American mariners are being shut out.

That’s a system looking the other way.

California continues to receive the largest share of Jones Act waivers, with 25% of all waived voyages occurring between California ports.

This trend isn’t the result of a lack of American maritime capability, it reflects years of underinvestment in refinery and energy infrastructure.

Every time a waiver is used, American Mariners lose work. It's time to protect our workers, and investments.

For more than a year our podcast, Maritime in America, has been dedicated to sharing the stories, voices, and perspectives of the men and women who keep the American maritime industry moving.

The current Jones Act waiver threatens American maritime jobs by replacing hardworking U.S. mariners with foreign crews, putting the long-term strength of our industry at risk.

Now more than ever, the voices of our American mariners matter.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this mission of ensuring their stories are heard. Together, we can stand up for American mariners and help protect the future of the U.S. maritime industry.

🇺🇸 We support the Jones Act, because the Jones Act supports our American Mariners.

Every foreign mariner used through the Jones Act waiver is a job taken away from an American mariner today and a lost opportunity for the future of our industry.

Protect American jobs, American vessels, and American investment.
