🌎Thrilled to share that inCitu has been selected as part of the Clinton Global Initiative Greenhouse 2025 Cohort!

On September 24, during the CGI Annual Meeting in New York — right at the heart of UNGA and Climate Week — we’ll be featured at What’s Working Way, an area of the event highlighting solutions shaping more resilient, sustainable, and equitable futures.

For over two decades, the CGI Community has stepped up to bridge public action with private innovation, reaching over 500 million people worldwide. We’re honored to join this network of change-makers and to amplify our work in making climate solutions and future cities tangible, visual, and accessible to all.

📰🌆What happens when paper plans and procedures meet the future unfolding on the street? A whole new way to talk about cities. This weekend inCitu hit the streets of NYC to showcase how augmented reality can unlock new pathways for collaboration on bold ideas and complex proposals for the built environment.

🚶‍♀️‍➡️➡️We kicked it off with a data and technology themed Jane's Walk at Hudson yards supported by with special guests Helpful Places and zlvas;

🛹➡️Saturday the team headed to the Brooklyn Bridge for Gotham Park's annual block party, where we collaborated with The Urban Assembly Maker Academy and PS 150 to showcase student work using inCitu AR;

☔➡️On Sunday, we brought our umbrellas to support West Queens Community Land Trust with another Jane's Walk tour in Long Island City, discussing the implications of rezoning and community plans on coastal resilience, housing, and economic opportunity.

What did we learn?

Impactful participation is all about bringing things back to the human scale, at eye level. When urban ideas are visible in their natural place, anyone from a kindergartner to a professional planner can make an impact on a wide range of stakeholders. Most of all, when we work together, we can elevate the conversation, and build civic courage to look past the status quo to face this century's toughest urban challenges.

Thanks to all the event organizers, co-hosts, and co-exhibitors who helped us welcome "AR season" to NYC this year. Let's keep building the future together! 🏙️🍃

Last week, we had an amazing time hosting a presentation and hands-on workshop at ! It was inspiring to watch students put their rapid prototyping skills to use with geo-anchored AR 🤳🏽

🧱Using inCituAR, students transformed simple materials like clay and blocks into concepts for the urban streetscape, then we took to the streets of downtown Brooklyn to see their creations come to life at full scale in Augmented Reality. ⚡️

💡Watching them experiment, iterate, and refine their concepts in real time was a powerful reminder of how AR can reshape the way we design for the urban environment, from fixed solutions to iterative co-creation.

Zoning codes shape our cities—but can we make them visible and accessible to everyone?

Why zoning?
Zoning isn’t just about regulations—it dictates how our cities grow, who can build what, and how space is used. NYC zoning is complex and contextually aware, and there’s ample open data, but it’s hard to understand in 3D.
That’s where zlvas and inCitu come in– By making zoning envelopes 3D, and then bringing interactive proposals to life in AR, we can shed light on key urban issues like development rights, air rights, and real estate potential—helping everyone, not just experts, envision the future of our built environment.

What to expect:
👉NYC Zoning 101 (no prior knowledge needed!)
👉Hands-on: Craft physical proposals using 3D zoning envelops from zlvas
👉Bring them to life in AR—see them outside at full scale!
