Are you targeting the right audience with your CTV advertising? According to The Current , marketers should consider "silver streamers," defined as viewers aged 55 or older, when it comes to ad-funded CTV.

Senior consumers make up the wealthiest consumer cohort in the world, and by 2030, they are projected to spend just under $15 trillion, up from $8.7 trillion in 2020. In fact, silver streamers on average make up 10 to 15 percent of countries' populations worldwide.

While many marketers focus on younger generations, older viewers are already driving streaming's growth in the U.S. and are likely to drive future growth for CTV advertising globally. And with the added specter of a worldwide cost-of-living crisis and economic downturn, creating ads that draw in wealthier silver streamers might be a matter of survival for global brands.

📣 According to Marketing Week's 2023 Career and Salary Survey, data analysis is the biggest skills gap in marketing teams. 😱 With data playing an increasingly important role in allowing brands to get closer to their target customers, it's crucial for marketing teams to have the skills to analyze and interpret data effectively.
The survey found that more than a third of respondents identified data and analytics as an area businesses are looking to improve, with content and copywriting skills and social media skills also lacking. However, businesses are taking steps to bridge these skills gaps, with 43.7% of marketers saying their businesses are hiring external talent, and more than a third upskilling their existing staff.
