She designs social media assets, conference materials, video, books, logos, brochures, CD packaging, posters and marketing materials. Favorite TV production jobs she has worked on include Younger (TV Land) and Instinct (CBS), Bad Education (HBO) and Netflix film FortyYear-Old Version. She also worked as a set dresser on the film The Irishman, and the streaming TV shows Daredevil, Russian Doll, Got

ham, Happy, and as a prop assistant on Shades of Blue, Blindspot and Orange Is the New Black. In her first 25 years in graphic design she worked in the publishing field as an Art Director at Scholastic Inc., designing more than 75 titles per year, including the best-selling series Animorphs. Karen’s freelance clients include HarperCollins Children’s Publishing, Disney Hyperion Press, BMG Entertainment and Sony Broadway Masterworks creating cd packaging, marketing materials and a digital image archive. Hudson is a graduate of State University College at Buffalo with a BS degree in Graphic Design. Member USA Local 829.

Did you know the Olympics used to award medals for art? 😲

From 1912 to 1952, you could win for painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, and music if your work was inspired by sport. You would see dramatic art of wrestling matches and designs for stadiums.

As the Games grew, the art competitions faded and were eventually dropped in 1948. This chapter highlights a unique time when the celebrated both athletic and artistic achievement.
