Here is the secret to color night vision!!

Ever wonder how some security cameras can see in full color in the pitch black, while others are stuck in black and white?

Standard night vision relies on Infrared (IR) light. The camera shoots out invisible IR beams to illuminate the area, but the image sensor can only process that specific infrared spectrum in monochrome—which is why the footage always looks black and white. Color night vision ditches the IR and relies on extreme light amplification instead.

The Tech Behind the Magic

Super-Sized Sensors: Color night vision cameras use highly sensitive, advanced CMOS image sensors. Think of these like massive light buckets. They feature oversized photodiodes designed to capture minuscule amounts of ambient photons that standard sensors completely miss.

Massive Apertures: They utilize specially designed lenses with super-wide apertures (often rated around f/1.0). Just like the pupil of your eye dilating in the dark, a larger physical opening lets significantly more ambient light hit the sensor.

Starlight Amplification: Instead of relying on IR, these cameras gather ambient starlight, moonlight, or distant streetlamps. Sophisticated internal algorithms take that faint light and multiply it up to 10,000 times to reconstruct a bright, color-accurate image.

Supplemental Warm Light: When an area is literally pitch black, these cameras trigger built-in, visible "warm" LED spotlights. Because this is true visible white light (and not IR), the sensor can capture the actual, true-to-life colors of a car's paint job or a person's jacket.

AI Noise Reduction: Low-light footage naturally gets incredibly grainy and pixelated. The camera's internal processor runs advanced 3D digital noise reduction to smooth out the image in real-time, resulting in a crisp, vibrant video.

So what type of nighttime picture do you like better?

Getting this project roughed in.

This one is pretty cool, as it's a renovation of an existing structure, and they built the new structure over and on top of the existing one - merging them in this fashion.

We will be doing full camera security, card access, audio and Wi-Fi systems here.

Stay tuned !

Upgraded the backyard audio just in time for summer, and a family of birds decided our setup was the perfect place to build their nest!!
☀️ 🏖🔊🪹

Brought the sound to the pool with a fresh outdoor speaker install and some killer views of the bay. 🌊

But the best part? We’ve already got some literal "tweeters" moving in! 🐦🎶

Don't worry, we’ll keep the volume bird-friendly while the chicks are growing. 🎧🏡

Out with the old and in with the new !

Tech updates never stop, and neither did we 👌💥✔️

Next cleanup loading...

🔧🛜🧹👨‍💻👩‍💻

This IT room has so much old technology that's no longer in use, and needs some TLC.

We will be installing a new wall mount rack, cleaning up the cabling and getting rid of this old behemoth 4 post rack.

Stay tuned!

Who else does this ?!

Not gonna lie, it's not as satisfying with a bank of smart switches 🤪

Chaos ➡️ Order. Another rack cleaned up, labeled, and optimized for peak performance. 💯🔌

These types of cleanups are actually more challenging than a new install as your have less freedom with what you're able to do, due to needing to work with existing infrastructure and limited down time.

Not everything was our choice here, as we were working under our clients' direction to conserve whatever we could and be as efficient as possible.

All Things Considered it came out pretty nice!

Can you spot (at least ) 10 differences ? 😁😉😎

A little BTS action on a beautiful Sunday! 🛠️

Getting the backyard audio ready and building the ultimate summer soundtrack, one stake at a time, so you can just kick back and enjoy views like that 🎶

Wait for that sunset view at the end... 😍 🌅

Who else is ready for summer evenings by the water? 👇

Oops , We Fluked up!

Ever look at a massive bundle of cables and wonder, "How on earth do I find the right one?" 🤔 Enter the magic wand of IT and electrical work: the Fluke Tone Generator & Probe. 🪄⚡️

Here’s the simple science behind how this lifesaver actually works:

1️⃣ The Sender (Tone Generator): You plug this little box into one end of your mystery cable. It shoots a specific electrical signal (an audio "tone") down the copper wire.

2️⃣ The Receiver (The Probe): This is your wand. The signal traveling through the wire creates a tiny, invisible electromagnetic field around the cable. The probe acts like an antenna that listens specifically for that frequency.

3️⃣ Marco Polo! As you wave the probe over a messy bundle of wires at the other end (like in a server room or wall box), it translates that field into an audible BEEP. The closer you get to your target cable, the louder the sound. 🔊🎯

It’s basically a high-tech game of hide-and-seek that saves hours of guesswork and prevents you from accidentally unplugging the boss's internet! 😅
