Timescale

Timescale Timescale is the modern cloud platform built on PostgreSQL for time series, events, and analytics. It is optimized for fast ingest and complex queries.

TimescaleDB is an open source time-series database engineered up from PostgreSQL and packaged as an extension. Unlike traditional RDBMS, TimescaleDB transparently scales up and out on single and multi-node deployments, respectively; unlike NoSQL databases, TimescaleDB natively supports all of SQL. TimescaleDB is distributed under the Apache 2 license.

More speed, less storage space, and utter coolness? Yes! Now, you don’t need to keep the raw dataset to continuously roll up data.

Check out how we made continuous aggregates even better in our latest blog post 👇

A continuous aggregate is similar to a PostgreSQL materialized view, speeding up queries. But rolling up (or downsampling) previously rolled up data can increase calculation speed while decreasing storage needs. Say hi to continuous aggregates on continuous aggregates, courtesy of Timescale 2.9.

Big news! 💥 Timescale Cloud now includes bottomless, consumption-based object storage built on Amazon S3!

What this means for you?

📈 Bottomless scalability. Having native access to a cloud-native object store means that you can seamlessly store a bottomless amount of time-series data in Timescale Cloud.

💰 Cost-efficient storage. This object storage layer is economical and consumption-based. You will pay only for what you store, with no extra charge per queries.

💻 Query S3 with SQL. To you, hypertables will continue to look like a single, unified whole. You can still query your tables using standard SQL, just like you are used to in PostgreSQL.

Join our private beta and test it today:

Timescale Cloud now offers consumption-based, low-cost object storage built on Amazon S3, giving you more tools to build scalable applications cost-efficiently.
