A special feature embedded in the Blue Marble Synth is this non-magnetic MEMS speaker created by USound, an advanced audio solutions company from Austria 🇦🇹🔊.

A key factor for integrating the Conamara full-range speakers and tweeters (known for their thin form and robustness) is that it doesn’t contain magnets like regular speakers, which will allow us to play and record sounds from the space capsule without altering the direction of the satellite.

The Analog Astronaut Community is joining the Blue Marble Project!

The Blue Marble Synthesizer Capsule was successfully loaded into D-Orbit's deployer aboard the SpaceX rocket set to launch in early November. With a few weeks left until the rocket launch, we're excited to have the Analog Astronaut Community join the Blue Marble Project!

Several Analog Astronauts will be composing original music with sounds from the Blue Marble Space Synth and the final performance will be presented at next year's Analog Astronaut Conference at Biosphere2 in Arizona.

Meet some of the members aboard: SpaceRacer, MaryLiz Bender, Don Gabriele Balanzat, Chelsea "Foxanne" Gohd and head to Kickstarter for the full update 👉 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/physicalsynthesis/blue-marble-put-a-music-synthesizer-in-space?ref=project_build

Discover how you can also interact & play with the space synth via the VST & Web Interface reward tier! A Live mode feature will also be made available to control the Blue Marble Synth live in space.

Thank you for joining the project Analog Astronaut Community 🚀🛰️🎶

How can you play with the Blue Marble Synthesizer? *VST and Web-Audio Application Early Bird* is available on Kickstarter!

The Blue Marble Synth VST is a zero-gravity sampler that serves data directly from the satellite to your VST so you can use it to control different effects, instruments, and events in your DAW or other software environment. As a bonus we will also be releasing a Max and Max-4-Live version of the plugin! You will just need authentication and internet connection to access the data in real-time, otherwise it will operate only in simulator mode.

VST Main Features?
- 7 discrete sensor-to-MIDI outputs with built-in parameterized smoothing.
-Additional flight sensor-to-MIDI outputs (up to 4) with built-in parameterized scaling and smoothing.
- A microphone feed directly from the capsule that you can use to mix in sounds captured from the pressurized chamber of the marble and the spacecraft.
- Compatible with any standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) that accept VST plug-ins.

In addition to the VST, we are also creating a Web-Audio App that we’ll need your support to complete. An interactive game-like music generator that allows you to interact with behaviors and sounds captured by the blue marble as it moves around the chamber in zero-gravity. This system is based on the Patatap Web Audio Synth, where users can mix between total control of their own sounds and the generative actions and sounds of the Blue Marble Synthesizer in space. You can also screen capture and record your sessions in either real-time data mode or simulation mode.

Together, we have a chance to push the boundaries of what is possible by putting a music synthesizer in space. Launching in orbit this November 1, 2023, the Blue Marble Synth will let you make music with the audio and the sensor data captured by the zero gravity capsule in space.

But to make this a reality, we’ll need your help to ensure the system is ready for orbit. This is why we just launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter today: link below👇

Check out how you can interact with the synth using the web interface or VST plug-in! You’ll also get access to an exclusive album that will be created by electronic artists Andrew Huang, Benn Jordan, Trovarsi, and MAYSUN music, who will compose original music using the Blue Marble Synthesizer once in orbit.

We agree, that’s a big statement but one we believe is achievable.

Music has always been a universal language that go beyond cultural barriers, connecting people on a truly emotional level. By introducing a music synth to space, our goal is to expand the horizons of artistic expression and what it could look like to make music off-planet.

This Blue Marble Synth Project is intended for all those who share a passion for space, music, and the intersection of science and art. Starting this Wednesday, we will launch a 30-day campaign on Kickstarter to make this project a reality and show you how you can directly interact & play with the Blue Marble Synthesizer once in orbit!

Ever wondered what a synthesizer would sound like in space?

In partnership with Odyssey SpaceWorks, we’ve created the Blue Marble Synthesizer: a synth that can only work in space by harnessing the properties of zero-gravity 🛰️. The system consists of a pressurised capsule, a network of sensors in a low earth orbit satellite, and a web audio interface.

We want you to be a part of this project and we’ll need your help to make it a reality. Head to https://bluemarblesynth.com to join the mission today and be the first to know when our Kickstarter campaign launches!

Together, we can launch the Blue Marble Synthesizer: the first-of-a-kind musical instrument that can only work in space and that is playable from here on earth.

But to realise this ambitious endeavour, we will need your support.

Head over to https://bluemarblesynth.com to join the mission and fill out the short form to be the first to know when the Kickstarter campaign launches. 🛰️
