New York Link Tech switched a good few clients from using traditional telephone service over to the exciting (and tested/proven) world of VoIP. The switch-over opens a new world of opportunities for communication while saving a significant amount of money for our clients. If you are still receiving bills from Verizon for something other than your internet service – I invite you to ask us for help in reducing your monthly bills by up to 50% or more!
One of the questions that is asked in every VoIP conversion project has to do with fax service. There are several ways of having your fax machine continue working when you switch over to VoIP. We can agree to leave your existing, dedicated, traditional telephone line for your fax, or we can purchase and install a converter box, which would essentially “extract” dial tone and turn your VoIP service into a traditional telephone line for your fax. Both of these solutions are valid, yet both have drawbacks: leaving an old line does not “upgrade” your line, and offers no cost savings associated with VoIP service. Installing a converter has an upfront cost for “dumbing down” your VoIP service for your fax machine to use, and some customers report periodic service issues.
In dealing with the “issues of the fax,” we came up with a solution that addresses our clients’ needs of availability, reliability, and cost. SRFax allows you to send a fax as easily as sending an email. That means that you can do it from any computer that has access to your email. You can easily give your employees access to send faxes from their computers or email accounts, too. You simply create an email to your fax number .com, and attach your documents that you want to fax – and voila! You get your standard delivery confirmation. The best part is receiving your fax – it comes directly to your email box as an attachment, and you can get notification by text message if you prefer. If you set-up your fax account with an email address that is a group email address, you can get your faxes delivered to your entire group automatically! You no longer need to buy fax paper or toner for your all-in-one, nor do you need to service your fax machine. You only print your fax if you wish to do so – after all, it is retained in your email until you choose to delete it. This promotes organization, reduces clutter, saves trees and very importantly – saves money!
