🆚 Amazon Vendor or Seller: What’s the Difference?

There are two categories of selling on Amazon: and . Vendors are part of ’s “1P” program while sellers are in the “3P” program.

Vendors are companies who wholesale products to smaller stores. If, for example, you purchased specialty teas from an Amazon shop, they may have sourced their teas, teapots, and infusers from a vendor who may not sell directly to the public. The 1P program for vendors is by invitation only.

Sellers, on the other hand, sell products directly to the customer. When you’ve discovered an item that you like on Amazon, you’ll notice the Seller’s name and a link to their store in the top right corner of the page.
Sellers produce about 60% of Amazon’s sales.

🔸 Amazon sets the price for product offerings
🔸 Amazon reserves the right to stop offering a vendor’s products at any time

Do you realize that, to have an Amazon listing that sells, you need to accurately answer your customer’s questions?

This is a little known secret: You can learn exactly what problems customers are looking to solve by studying customer questions and reviews on listings. The most common questions are the ones you should add to your listing. Doing so will signal to your customers that your priority is their needs.

Next, examine the questions and reviews on your competitors listings to find out where they’re falling short. Fill in the gaps with better answers so that you can stand out.

Edit your bulleted lists and titles according to your new-found understanding of customer needs. In this way, you’ll provide them with the most useful information. For example, include descriptions like “This item is waterproof” if this is a quality that customers often ask about.

📌 Failing to outline a clear set of campaign goals. Know exactly what you want to accomplish before initiating your Amazon PPC campaign. Then think about how you will evaluate success.
📌 Failing to conduct keyword studies. Keyword research is critical in helping you craft text that will match search queries. The right keywords will create more conversions by connecting you to the right audience.

If you’re looking to get in on the action as a product , learn what you need to get started in this quick article. In just a few steps, you can have widespread exposure and sales.

📌 Choose a Shipping Option
If you sell relatively small items, and you can send a large quantity of them to Amazon’s fulfillment centers, they fulfilled by Amazon ( ) option will be very convenient for you. They’ll simply keep your products in their warehouses and ship them directly to customers upon order confirmation.
However, if you have larger, bulkier items that are more difficult to the warehouse, it may be better to ship these yourself. This is known as Fulfillment by Merchant ( ) and is also great for unique items that you don’t sell a lot of.

📌 Decide What to Sell
Since you’re considering selling on Amazon, chances are you already have offerings in mind. However, you can refine your decision about what to sell by doing some niche research.

Is there already something there that is identical to your product? Consider private , where a manufacturer of an existing product adds your company name and logo to it for sale. With this option, you can bypass having the product manufactured yourself.

📌 Step Three: Make sure you categorize your product properly. Failure to do so can send your page to search oblivion.
