Many make the mistake of picking the wrong web design company.
Follow these rules to pick the right company.
First don't hire a company that has a poor looking website.
After all if they can't design their own site how can they design yours?
Things to look at include the about page, the contact page and a client portfolio page.
What computer languages do they know?
How many years have they been in business?
The older a company is the better.
Check for bad reviews as this is much more telling if any exist.
Follow these rules and you will have good results.

Why backup of your website is important!

The most popular website software out there is Wordpress.
Wordpress is pretty good as it makes it easy for the average user to make changes to their website.
But the problem is it requires upgrades for Wordpress and for the plugins and theme used.

Most people don't check their site often and some never check it.
When upgrades are not installed the website can either be hacked or can break. If the upgrades have not been done in a long time I have seen problems where the website would crash and can not be fixed.

Setting it to auto upgrade can also be a problem.
Sometimes these upgrades can break a website.

This is why backups are important!

Moat hosts only give you one backup - yesterdays backup.
What good would that be if your site was broken for 3 or more days ago.

This is why we have 7 days of backup to choose from plus 3 weekly and 3 monthly backups.

If your site broke a week ago you can get the week prior to it's problem from backup and restore your site as it was.

We are working on it and it's getting close to release time.

It was once a very popular directory until Google decided that directories are not meaningful.
Click4choice had huge traffic back in the early 2000s

The original software used has now met it's end.
Gossamer Links SQL which was a Perl driven software excellent.
It's sad to see Gossamer go
Their website is no longer being maintained ( gossamer-threads.net )
So we will give it a complete facelift and design it on PHP.

I expect the new Click4choice will be ready within the next two weeks.

Now that you have a new website what is next?
Time to build traffic is what you need do.
Things to do would be first: create your social media accounts.
Post weekly in each.
Second: get links in other websites,
Third: write articles on yours and other websites. Be sure to include your company name and link in these articles.
Forth: Be sure to tell your clients to give you a review in Google and Bing.

Last would require spending money.
A good PPC campaign would help or spending on ads in Social media.

SEO service is also a good idea as it increases your chances to be found in search engines.

What should you do is all of the above if you want your website to work for you.

A new website built from start to finish.
I should really create a video on this but will explain how it works and hope that is enough.
When we get an order for a website we setup in a staging area the website which is visible for anyone to see. This area has settings to tell search engines not to index the site.
As the site is being created the client can view it so as to approve or disapprove of the pages being created. If he's not happy with a page design we then make changes to meet the client's approval.
Once the client is happy with the finished design, we then move it to the client's hosting account.
If the client does not have hosting we provide it free for one year along with a domain if needed.

We are dropping cWatch
When we first started with Comodo as a partner it was fine.
But things have changed.
When they introduced cWatch I thought it was a good idea.
I provided it to my clients.
But due to the worst support I have ever seen I am ending my relationship with Sectigo which is the new name for Comodo.
I had opened a support ticket with them in March which still has not been resolved.
I got answers like reinstall the software or we can't duplicate it on our side.

I sent them images and told them upgrades or installing again does not work.

Worse I find out they force a password change on the API !!!
Without even emailing you telling you you need to update it !!!

We no longer support it

Why is the uptime only 9 days?
When upgrades take place we at times have to reboot.
There is and alternative that allows us to never reboot but I don't like the downside of it so prefer keeping it simple.
Reboots only takes 2 minutes to complete which is very short and it's not often that one needs to do it.

We don't own the UK Server so it has used CloudLinux which allows updates without rebooting.
