Earlier in May, we came across an inspiring conversation between author Isabel Allende and Anna Sale, host of the podcast Death, S*x & MoneyDeath, S*x & Money from Slate Magazine.
In the episode, Isabel reflects on personal relationships and her life journey — what it was like to live through the Chilean coup and move across continents. When she talks about the passing of her daughter, Paola, who suffered from a genetic condition called porphyria, she says that it was her mother’s words that guided her through this period of hardship and ultimately prompted her to start writing.
Isabel’s mother described grief as a tunnel, one you walk through alone, step by step, day by day, tear after tear, but that there’s light at the end.
We'd love to share this beautiful episode with our network:
