Quick question: is there a computer in your business that nobody wants to touch?
Maybe it runs a lab instrument. Maybe it controls expensive equipment. Maybe your whole team depends on the software on it.
It works, so nobody risks breaking it with an update. And it keeps running, sometimes for years without a security patch.
The good news: you may not have to shut it down to make it safer.
Your IT team might be able to isolate it from the rest of your network, making it harder for an attacker to reach your other systems.
Two things to ask this week:
→ Do we have any critical computers that can’t be updated?
→ If so, what are we doing to protect the rest of our network?
