I’ve been seeing a lot of burnt out Magsafe connectors lately. Clean the connection with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol, then let it thoroughly dry. A poor connection will lead to excess heat, which will eventually damage the pins, and then the casing, as seen below. This is a fire hazard. The Magsafe connector is separate from the logic board, so this is an affordable repair.
