ITS LAUNCH DAY✨

a little something different outside of the wellness side of things, hannah from reached out to update the Heard Productions | Truth Be Told website before their October launch event. i’m so glad we were able to collaborate on a site that aligned with their dedication to the history of Hampton Roads and commitment to community (and y’all already know i was obsessed with their color palette).

creating the mini brand identity for stellaria apothecary was such a design highlight. this was my first logo designed based on healing plants.

sheena centers her healing practice’s identity around the benefits of the chickweed, a gorgeous plant with the shape of a star in the center of its flower. it is a cleansing and strengthening, perfect to introduce her budding apothecary business (pun intended!)

Out For Stars Yoga () brings all the bright, soulful vibes you’re searching for in a yoga class. It’s also run by ✨Me✨, your favorite graphic designer and! yoga instructor. I’d been teaching for about two years, and decided it was time to brand myself.

Out For Stars comes from spending summers with my grandmother in Gastonia, NC, standing barefoot in the grass, looking up at the stars. That is where I’ve felt the most grounded, and the exact feeling I’d like to offer my students.

is anyone else like this?

in my day job, i love being minimal with neutral colors and clean lines and fonts. but freelancing and how i’ve designed my home, it’s maximalism all the way! gallery walls, bright colors, bold fonts and a lot of plants, candles and statues (bonus if they’re fruit or an animal of some kind).

how does your daily life style translate to your business’s branding? i know it can’t be just me!

Alana of The Untamed Natural trusted me to redesign her logo as my introduction back into freelancing, and I can’t thank her enough. Her vision for how she wants her businesss and brand to expand, and her personal transformation into the driven, focused business owner I know her to be, inspired me to create a logo that was both organic and structured.

Her overrall message was centered around connecting to yourself, becoming who you are and recognizing where you’re going. Her brand colors have always been pink and purple, so we kept the design true to its roots.

one of my favorite parts of the onboarding process is listening to my clients talk about their vision. and not just their vision for today, but where they see themselves in 5-10 years, if you could wish upon a star dreamy vision ✨

fun fact: my ultimate dream is to own a coffee shop/bookstore with an event space in the back (more than likely for yoga classes, of course!). All my favorite things in one space. & you know there’ll be donuts 🍩

today for , i was going to write a post about my “why” and the Vanessa, my client from 2016 that inspired me to specialize in beauty and wellness brands, posted this amazing review on my page. Her words are exactly my reason why I work my magic and why I approach it the way I do!
