We are pleased to announce that it became official yesterday! Computer Port is now in the very capable hands of new owner Bill Dufresne. One of Tom’s biggest concerns during his courageous cancer battle was the continuation of the success that Computer Port built. Karen made sure that Tom’s desire was accomplished. Everyone who has met Bill over the last year knows that he exemplifies Tom’s values in taking care of the client. Computer Port looks forward to continuing that legacy as we start the new year. Thanks for your loyal support!

We’re getting a lot of questions about Windows 10 winding down. Here's the scoop:

Windows 10 reaches end-of-life on October 14, 2025 — but that doesn't mean your computer turns into a pumpkin.

If your system isn’t eligible for Windows 11, you’ve still got solid options:
Replace or upgrade hardware
Convert to ChromeOS or Linux
Or just stay offline and risk it (not ideal, but we get it)

Microsoft will offer Extended Security Updates (ESUs) for around $30/year per PC, but only for machines that are compatible with Windows 11. In other words: if your PC can run Windows 11 but you choose not to, ESUs buy you time and protection.

👉 No ESUs for hardware that can’t run Win 11.

Well Happy April Vacation Week? Many folks are on break and we hope if you ran the Boston Marathon you had a great day and a PR. It's NOT a great week at Computer Port as Big Dave's Bagels & Deli is taking their well-deserved annual week off. So no bagels for you OR us! We are here all week and there is plenty of FREE parking!
