Happy Friday! If you are meeting up with friends or family this weekend and need to send someone an address, don't try to memorize it or write it down just to re-type it in a text message. Use the smartphone "Magic Trick" instead: Copy and Paste!

How to do it:
1️⃣ Tap and hold your finger on the address (or recipe, or phone number) until it highlights in color and a little menu pops up.
2️⃣ Tap 'Copy'.
3️⃣ Go to your text message, tap and hold the empty typing space, and select 'Paste'.

It instantly moves the information over without a single typo! Give it a try when making your weekend plans today! ☀️

Our submission, “BHI Turns Fraud Prevention into High-Engagement Resident Programming,” recognizes our vital work with our partner community, BHI Senior Living / The Barrington of Carmel, and our cybersecurity partner, Trend Micro.
With online scams and fraud becoming a serious issue for older adults, we wanted to do more than just warn residents. Together, we created a hands-on, approachable program combining fraud education, cybersecurity tools, and ongoing support from our Tech Concierges.

And the residents showed up in a big way! Participation was 90% higher than typical community educational programming, with strong repeat attendance and overwhelmingly positive feedback.

We’re so proud to see this work recognized alongside amazing innovators in senior living, and we are so grateful to BHI Senior Living and Trend Micro for their partnership. Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists! 💙

That's why we're so excited to launch Fearless Fridays! A new series featuring real stories from the residents we serve, celebrating curiosity and lifelong learning!

Our very first story features Carole, a wonderful resident at Gainesville ( Senior Living). Carole had always wanted to try Virtual Reality (VR). With a little guidance from our Tech Concierge, Fink, she slipped on a headset and stepped right onto the streets of Paris! 🥐🇫🇷

She revisited old memories and discovered that it's truly never too late to try something new. These are the moments that remind us technology is about so much more than devices; it's about discovering what's possible.

Taking a late summer road trip or flying to visit family this August? If you've ever noticed your phone battery draining super fast on the highway, it’s because your phone is working overtime trying to find a cell signal! The Tech Trick: Turn on Airplane Mode.

By tapping the little airplane icon in your phone's settings, you temporarily turn off the phone's ability to make calls or connect to the internet. Because your phone isn't searching for a signal anymore, your battery will last significantly longer! It is the perfect trick for long drives through the countryside, flights, or when you just want to read a downloaded eBook in peace.

Today, we can stream our favorite albums from start to finish without a single skip or pause. But if you owned an 8-Track Tape Player, you knew the true test of musical patience!

Because of how the tape was wound, the player would often have to switch tracks right in the exact middle of your favorite song. The music would suddenly fade out... you’d hear a massive mechanical KA-CHUNK!... and then the song would awkwardly fade back in. And heaven forbid your car's tape deck decided to eat the tape and spool it all over the passenger seat! 📼

If your phone or tablet is running frustratingly slow today, taking forever to open an app or freezing up it might just be full storage. Just like a closet stuffed to the brim, when your device's storage is completely full, it struggles to function properly.

Here is your tech task:
1️⃣ Open your Settings app.
2️⃣ Tap on Storage (or "General" then "Storage").
3️⃣ Take a look at what is taking up the most space!
What to throw out: Delete apps you haven't opened in months, long videos taking up massive amounts of space, and old text message threads you no longer need.

Easton joined us earlier this month and is already helping residents at Clark at Franklin and Clark at Keller Lake, Senior Living communities in Michigan.

With a background in IT support, CompTIA A+ certification, and a passion for solving technology challenges, Easton loves helping people feel more confident with the devices they use every day. He's also currently working toward his Security+ certification because, for him, learning never stops.
When he's not helping residents, you'll probably find him building PCs, gaming, or tinkering with cars.
