As we look ahead, we remain committed to supporting you—the people driving change in nonprofits, education, and beyond. Together, we face challenges, but our values remain our guide. Today, we want to share four key points about Notehouse and how we’re here to stand with you:

First and Foremost, We’re Here with You:

We know many of you are facing uncertainties—whether due to changes in nonprofit status, education funding, or broader policy shifts. While we can’t promise to solve every challenge, we’re here to work with you. If budget losses affect your access to Notehouse, we’ll find a way to ensure you continue to have a secure, protected space for your data.

A Unique Approach to Independence:

Speaking of security, Notehouse is unlike most tech companies. We take no outside funding, are entirely bootstrapped, and are free from VC or investor pressures. Lauren, our founder, owns a majority stake, and we’re committed to keeping it that way. Though it has been a tough road (Lauren still doesn’t draw a salary from Notehouse, fingers crossed soon!) This independence means we’re always working for you, not shareholders, and we cannot be “bought” if our investors change hands (because we don’t have any!) While laws protecting privacy exist now, they could change. Knowing who ultimately makes decisions about your data matters more than ever.

Leadership That Walks the Walk:

You already know we’re HIPAA compliant but our commitment to privacy goes much deeper. Our founder, Lauren, has dedicated her life to fighting for equity, justice, and liberty which, yes, includes privacy! She got her legal start winning a federal injunction to protect students’ rights, and as recently as last year, successfully sued Airbnb for their allowance of indoor cameras, helping lead to a global policy change. This isn’t just something we talk about at Notehouse, we pursue it in real life.

Resources and Connection:

Beyond our platform, we aim to support your well-being and growth and help fortify both you and your organizations for the hard work ahead. We’re showing up weekly with the Twisted Yogi to support our nervous system and ourselves and you’re all invited to join. This Friday, we’re also hosting “Future-Ready Allyship: How Non-Immigrant Led Agencies Can Show Up Better for Non-Citizen Communities.” Together, we’ll discuss proactive ways to protect immigrant communities and foster allyship, no matter how the laws evolve.
