We have built dental websites for clients across different markets, and thought it would be helpful to share what we have found to be important to build a site that actually converts visitors into new patients:
1) Your Actual Photo Speaks Volumes: Many dental websites use stock photos or generic teeth-related photos, but the main driver to patient trust is having your own, well-edited photo that goes with the overall look and feel of the website.
2) Transparency about pricing is key: When patients find clear and direct information about pricing, insurance, etc. it reduces friction and one other call being placed. This, in our experiments, has shown to drive bookings.
3) Mobile load speed is crucial: A beautifully crafted website that loads in over 5 seconds is worse than a generic website that loads within 1 second, precisely because of the fact that in this attention-scarce world, patients rarely have time to wait. We have optimized our site’s loading speed even with heavy hero graphics and page builders that have kept the site lite even with attractive animations and graphics.
4) Copy beats graphics every time: A copy that speaks to the patient frame of mind beats pretty graphics every time. Most website developers underestimate what a good copy can do, which is exactly why we have doubled down our efforts on this.
