🚨 WSECU WARNING!!! PLEASE SHARE! 🚨 I’ve been seeing 10–15 NEW customers a week who have been referred to me from WSECU, and the number of scams happening has been astronomical! I’ve seen numerous cases involving WSECU members who have fallen victim to these criminals.
Scammers are contacting people through text messages, phone calls, emails, and even FaceTime! They use scare tactics, threats, and a sense of urgency to trick people into giving up personal information or sending them money. They are especially targeting seniors, and it absolutely breaks my heart to see this happening!
PLEASE, DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAMS!
If someone contacts you claiming to be from your bank and says there’s a problem with your account, HANG UP! Do not give them your information, follow their instructions, or send any money!
Call the phone number printed on the back of your debit card. The ONLY other number I personally trust for WSECU is 800-562-0999.
Here’s why I’m so passionate about getting this warning out.
Just this past Friday, a customer who has been coming to me for 15 YEARS came into my store. She had wired $90,000 to a scammer — ALL the money she had! 😢
Please understand that these criminals are getting more sophisticated every day. They know how to sound convincing, create panic, and make you believe you must act immediately. That is exactly what they want you to believe!
If you receive a suspicious call, text, email, or FaceTime, STOP! Hang up and contact your bank using a verified phone number. Never trust the number someone gives you or a number that appears on your caller ID.

Local residents have reported an increase in phone scams and aggressive browser pop-ups claiming their computer is "infected" or locked.
Remember: Microsoft or Apple will never call you out of the blue, demand immediate payment, or ask for gift cards to fix your computer. If a suspicious screen freezes your computer, don't dial the number on the screen. Force restart it or bring it to a local expert you can trust.
