How to Connect with Your Customers!

Brands that only fulfill a basic need become a commodity, and customers develop little loyalty. Brands that connect on an emotional level tend to have higher profits, more repeat purchases, and greater brand loyalty.

Customers have many choices and tend to choose products and services with which they have a connection. People often define themselves through the products they purchase.

What do You Say?

Your message is not about you but about what your target market wants, does, or has—not what they need; direct it towards fulfilling their desires. They aren’t buying a donut but an indulgence, a reward, or a way to add a little joy to their morning.

Use the Right language.
Know who you are talking to. When connecting with your audience, sound like an expert. Use industry lingo with those in your field, but avoid that lingo when communicating with a broader audience.

On our way down to Texas for our vacation—ok, half days work, half days fun—my wife and I got the opportunity to swing by one of our clients, Wild Honey Box. The great part about technology in this day and age is that you can work with, build relationships, and do some incredible things without being in the same room. However, I love it when you get the opportunity to see each other face-to-face. We laughed that it seemed like we had met face-to-face before because we all feel like family, although Dax was taller than I thought he was. We got to hang out with all three generations of this family business: the parents (who started the business), their daughter and son-in-law, and the grandkids. We got to take a look around the farm, see the farm's honey store, and taste some incredible new creamy honeys they have in the works. While Wild Honey Box makes some amazing honeys, the people are even more incredible.
