I wanted one of my own. But I didnāt just want any dragon booknook. I wanted one that looked the way I imagined it⦠and no one seemed to be making that. So I asked myse
lf the question that has gotten me into many wonderful creative adventures:
āCould I make it myself?ā
Iāve always loved creating things with my own hands, so I started small. Bookmarks for friends. Little experiments. Then came the plant-inspired piecesābecause if thereās anything I love as much as books and dragons, itās plants. Each project taught me something new, and each finished piece made me wonder if maybe, just maybe, other people might enjoy these things too. So I took a leap and posted a few items on Facebook Marketplace. To my surprise and joy, people responded. They liked what I made. They wanted more. And suddenly, this tiny spark of an idea began to feel like something real. I started talking to my husband about the possibility of doing craft shows someday. Before I could even finish the sentence, he was already dreaming bigger. The next thing I knew, he had pulled together a name, a logo, a color palette, and the beginnings of a brand. He has never once doubted what Iām capable of, and he has been my number one supporter from the very beginning. And just like that, LayerUp Creations was bornāout of curiosity, creativity, a love for all things whimsical and bookish, and the unwavering support of someone who believes in me wholeheartedly. Today, every piece I make carries that same spark: the joy of imagining something magical and the thrill of bringing it to life, layer by layer
