TURNER TIP: Unexpected password reset email? Don’t use the link.

Password reset emails can be legitimate, but they’re also an easy way for scammers to get you to click a convincing-looking link.

Instead of clicking, open your browser or app and go directly to the company’s website. If your password really needs to be changed, you can take care of it there.

And if you didn’t request a password reset in the first place? That’s a good reason to let your IT team know.

A few extra seconds can save you from handing your login information to the wrong person.

When in doubt, skip the link and go straight to the source.
