I’m learning a very hard lesson, which is that sometimes things don’t go right the first time. 😂 Yes, this is actually extremely hard for me.

At some point in life I started believing that I should be getting things right the first time, every time. This has caused immense hesitation in the creation of new work over my lifespan, the fear of failure looming overhead at every turn. I deal with this every single day. (You should have seen me spiraling over my first loaf of failed sourdough.)

So this fun little experiment was good practice in working towards creating with low expectations, acceptance, and letting go.

I don’t know what’s next for me, but I know it’s gonna be good. 👌

After being unexpectedly laid off from a career I fell in love with and flourished in, I see that each experience is a stepping stone — one leading to the next. Two years at Ca****la Weddings & Events flew by in the blink of an eye, probably because of all the fun we had, the challenges we overcame, and the truly wonderful people I had the privilege of working alongside.

At the end of the day, I’ll always have my home in art, and I’ll still be here — occasionally sharing what I’m working on.

In the meantime, I’m looking for careers in marketing, design, administrative but creative (does that exist?), client relations, and something that requires a lot of details and organizing… I’m type A like that and need a good challenge.
