I didn't want to start a business, I just wanted to be a pastor.

But I'm not in charge here.

It was the fall of 2016. My wife had just went back to work (phew) and our financial situation had begun to settle into a normal rhythm again.

Then my wife, by some wild unforeseen circumstance (ha), told me, "I'm pregnant."

We had strong convictions that we wanted her to be home with the littles while they were little, and we both knew we were going to do it again.

I had no idea how this was going to work. Neither did she. But I remember being in our living room and saying, "I don't know how we're going to do it, but we're going to make this work."

And the rest is history.

A borrowed camera. Taking pictures and making videos for less-than-minimum wage. Figuring out websites and social media for the first time.

And ten years later we have a business. A real business. With full time employees, a brick-and-mortar office, and we even pay taxes (a lot of taxes).

This was never a part of the five year plan. But we are thrilled the Lord has given us this opportunity, not just to build something for our family, but for the families of all of our employees, and the families of every person and company we serve.

If a marketing agency promises you overnight results, they're most likely lying.

Here's what the timeline actually looks like when someone's being honest with you:

- 90–160 days before you see real, trackable returns on an effective campaign
- 3 months before ad buy metrics stabilize and tell you anything meaningful
- 12 months before you fully understand what the strategy is doing for your business

We lay this out for every client before we start.

Not because it's a legal move. Because if we set the wrong expectation on day one, neither of us wins.

If you're talking to an agency that's promising faster than this, ask them to put it in writing.

We shot a batch of tutorial videos for a local VOIP company a few weeks back.

Their users kept calling support with the same questions. So instead of answering the same call 200 times, they called us.

Simple setup. Clean footage. Videos their customers can actually follow.

That's what production work looks like when it's built to solve a real problem.
