Most print mistakes aren't press problems. They're file problems.
Before you send your next label file, check these 5 things:

1. Resolution — 300 DPI at final print size. 72 DPI looks fine on screen. It won't on press.
2. Bleed — Always include bleed beyond the cut line. The required amount varies, so confirm with your printer before you finalize the file.
3. Color mode — Labels print in CMYK, not RGB. If your file is RGB, the colors will shift.
4. Fonts — Outline all fonts before sending. Missing fonts get substituted, and it won't look right.
5. Die line — Separate layer, spot color, set to overprint. If it's not separated, it can print on your label.

Most of these take under 5 minutes to fix before print. They can take days and cost real money after.
