The backpacks are packed, the lunches are made, and the kids are finally back in class.

Helpful Tip Tuesday 📸

A photo may look perfectly clear on your phone but become blurry or pixelated when enlarged for a sign, banner, poster, or other printed material.

For sharper, more professional results:

✅ Send the original, full-resolution image
✅ Avoid using screenshots
✅ Don’t download the image from social media
✅ Avoid repeatedly saving or compressing the file
✅ Make sure the image is large enough for the finished print size
✅ View the image at 100%—if it looks blurry on screen, it will likely look blurry in print

Not sure whether your photo is suitable for your project? Send it to us before ordering, and we’ll help determine whether it has enough resolution.

Our office hours are currently being managed by a tiny new supervisor.

She doesn’t use a calendar, schedules meetings at 2:00 a.m., and considers every deadline negotiable—except feeding time.

As Jeremy enjoys the greatest assignment of his life—paternity leave—our physical office is operating on an as-needed and by-appointment basis. We kindly ask for a little grace while our schedule settles into its new rhythm.

But please don’t mistake an occasionally empty office for an unattended business:

📞 Our phones remain available during normal business hours.
📅 Appointments are still available.
💻 Our clients’ websites are still being actively managed.
🔒 We’re still carefully researching current technology, updates, and plugins to help keep those sites modern, functional, and secure.

So yes, our office schedule is a little unpredictable right now. Our commitment to our clients is not.

Thank you for continuing to trust Empie Print & Design—and for giving our newest dad a little grace while he learns to manage diapers, websites, and approximately four minutes of sleep.

Our priorities have shifted a little around here.

Before baby: Website updates. Print orders. Marketing plans. Brand strategy. Coffee.

After baby: Diapers. Bottles. Burping. Rocking. Trying to remember where we set the coffee.

But don’t worry — Empie Print & Design is still here for your business needs. Our office hours may look a little different for a while, but our commitment to helping small businesses with print, design, websites, branding, and marketing is still as strong as ever.

We’re just doing it now with a little less sleep and a lot more baby snuggles.

Big news from Empie Print & Design! 💕

Jeremy and his wife have welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world, and we are feeling incredibly blessed.

Our office was closed last week, and our hours may look a little different for the next little while as Jeremy steps into one of the most important roles of his life: being Dad.

"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him." Psalms 127.3 NLT

While priorities and schedules may be shifting in this season, our commitment to serving the small businesses in our community remains firm. Empie Print & Design is still here to help with print, design, marketing, websites, branding, and the creative support your business needs.

And who knows — this new chapter may bring an even deeper understanding of what moves people. Jeremy now has a whole new perspective on what pulls at a parent’s heartstrings, and that insight can only help us create more meaningful, heartfelt marketing for the businesses we serve.

Helpful Tip Tuesday 🖨️

Before you send your file to print, make sure it is actually print-ready.

Here are a few things to check:

✅ Leave safe margins
Keep important text, logos, and design elements at least 1/4 inch away from the edge. This helps prevent anything important from getting cut off during trimming.

✅ Save as a print-ready PDF
When possible, export your file as a PDF for print using CMYK color, with bleeds and crop marks included when needed.

✅ Check readability
Make sure your text is large enough to read clearly. Also watch your color contrast — text and background colors that are too similar can be hard to see once printed.

✅ Zoom to 100%
Look over your project at 100% size. If an image looks blurry on your screen, it will likely look blurry in print too.
