🚨🧠📊tRay Kurzweil is one of the few people who
predicted the Al revolution decades ago and actually got the timeline right.
In 1999, he published The Age of Spiritual Machines, where he said that by the early 2020s, Al systems would already be performing many human tasks. He also predicted that by around 2029, computers would reach human-level intelligence. That is now starting to play out.
Kurzweil says he has made 147 predictions since the 1990s and claims an accuracy rate of around 86%. He believes we are now entering the most transformative decade in history.
He points to three key moments coming soon:
- By 2032, he expects science to extend human life faster than we age.
- In the 2030s, he predicts robots the size of cells will flow through our bodies and connect our brains directly to the cloud.
- And by 2045, he believes this will lead to the Singularity, a point where human intelligence is merged with Al and expanded a millionfold.
He says this merger will combine our creativity with the processing power of machines, creating a level of intelligence far beyond what exists today. In his view, it will be like having a smartphone in your brain, only much more advanced.
Kurzweil believes this transition has already begun. And in the next 20 years, it will redefine what it means to be human.
