This is some very cool information... Apparently Amazon is getting in to the networking business. We already know that they want to have drone delivery of packages... Well I guess it makes sense for them to have their own network to run them on right? There is so much information here especially if you start jumping around to the different information sites that provide the background information for this project but you're going to want to read all of it to get the full grasp of it.

If you don't know what a malnet is then you need to really read this article. I confess I've been in this business a very very long time and it's still difficult for me to keep up on the new technologies that pop up to steal people's info and this one is extremely dangerous and you've probably hit one already and if you don't have security on your devices you're really committing su***de on a humongous scale... I can't believe that I talk to people everyday still in 2023 and they do not have security on their computers and devices and I emphasize and devices Yes your phone needs security also.

The number of malnets has jumped 300 percent in the past six months, according to security firm Blue Coat Systems. While they are nearly impossible to kill, there are steps you can take to protect your organization.

Just yesterday UBER was hacked again. It was compromised as a hacker gained access to an inter-departmental chat service called "SLACK" ...and used that to spoof an administrative appearing message to gain an employee's password and used that to access the rest of the network.

How does this happen? How do you KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING AT YOUR COMPANY???

By LEARNING YOURSELF, THEN TRAINING YOUR EMPLOYEES!!

Here is a document that can help you do just that. I didn't write it, I'm just sharing it so that the information can get out there, because obviously it's not getting out there or these breaches would not continue to occur in late 2022.

phishing attacks are phishing attacks. They all work the exact same way...someone tries to trick you into logging on to a fake web page or portal. When you read this article of how MANY people were duped by this guys fake page and proceeded to attempt to log on to it, thus GIVING AWAY their facebook login credentials, you will be shocked. I was shocked. Especially since it's not that hard to avoid a phishing attack...all you have to do is get into the habit of VERIFYING domains! What is a DOMAIN? A domain is the website's name/address. And Facebook is https://facebook.com ...everything related to facebook should end with that web address. Anything else is fake ...facebook-marketplace.com for example...is NOT facebook. A real faceook marketplace domain would have 'marketplace" as the SUBDOMAIN and it would look like this: https://marketplace.facebook.com ...see how it has to end in Facebook.com? If it does not, IT'S A FAKE SITE!

HERE'S the amazing article of people's foolishness. Change practices folks, and LOOK at where you are really going on the web!

This is some very scary stuff. They are now paying cell phone company employees to switch your phone number to another sim card (called sim card swapping) so they can pick up your 2FA codes from your phone. Horrid the stuff that is going on nowadays. If you ever request a code and don't ever get them, you should call in, and if it's your phone, call the phone company and check it out

Just a little developer-related covid humor from 2020 ...it's old, what can I say. Who thought it would still be relevant in 2022?

It's not THAT bad, right? We know you will look back on this year at times in the future, and this year was such a struggle for so many. We will look back

This is kind of interesting...the U.S. government is offering a large payout for information on ransomware hackers. If you think you want to be a hacker bounty hunter, you should read this article:

The $10 million is for intel that leads to the identification or location of anyone who holds a leadership position in the DarkSide group.

Not everyone that needs to see this we'll see it I'm sure but I just wanted to post a notice that computer services will be down for a couple of days while I upgrade my machines. If you email me I will pick it up on my phone but other than that I won't be able to provide any real assistance except for guidance for a couple days. Don't worry I'll be back very soon.
