Another happy customer at Mastertech Computers!

A local customer stopped in looking for a 16GB DDR5 4800MHz laptop RAM upgrade. After checking prices online, we found used sticks going for around $179 on eBay!

His budget was under $150, so we worked out a deal: $125 out the door for a Samsung 16GB DDR5 stick, complete with a warranty!

Now he's heading home to upgrade his laptop to 32GB, saved some money, and supported a local small business.

That's what we love about serving Pahrump! When we can save our neighbors money and get them what they need, everybody wins!

Saturday afternoon, just a couple hours before closing, a customer walked into Mastertech Computers here in Pahrump with a PS5 that kept overheating and shutting off.

One look through the vents and we could see the dust buildup! He was hoping to get it back the same day, so we told him to give us 90 minutes.

We got it torn down, cleaned out, serviced, tested, and put back together just in time for his 3:30 pickup!

Another local gamer back in action for the weekend!

Apparently Nash was a playable character way back in the Street Fighter Alpha days, but I honestly don't remember him! 😂 I guess he made his big comeback in Street Fighter V.

I've got this collectible Nash statue, and now I'm wondering... are there any Nash fans out there? Did anybody actually main this guy? And is there a market for his collectibles? 🎮👊

Just another day at MasterTech Computers!
Come open the shop with me as I unlock the front door, turn on the lights, check out what needs to be restocked, and figure out what I'm getting into for the day.

We've got a bunch of Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses that came in through our mail-in repair service, some refurbished laptops that need to be wiped and reloaded, and plenty of other projects waiting on the workbench.

Of course, before I can even get started, customers start walking through the door! One needs to pay an invoice, another has some electronics to drop off for recycling, and just like that... so it begins!

No big repair project in this video. Just a little behind the scenes look at what a normal morning looks like running a local computer repair shop in Pahrump, Nevada.

Thanks for hanging out with me!

All his business data was on this hard drive… and it wouldn't turn on! 😬

A customer walked into Mastertech Computers with an external hard drive that suddenly stopped working. He was hoping it just needed a new USB cable, but unfortunately, that wasn't the problem.

I offered to open up the enclosure and check the drive inside. Turns out, the little SATA-to-USB adapter board had failed!

We removed the old board, popped his hard drive into a brand-new $19.99 external enclosure, and BOOM! It powered right up, and all his business files were still there!

Total cost? Just $20!

He was thrilled to have his business data back and said he was heading straight home to make a backup! 😂

Friendly reminder: If your data is important, ALWAYS have a backup! External hard drives can fail without warning.

A customer told me her neighbor was moving and selling off his arcade collection. I was originally interested in his NBA Jam cabinet for $225, but when I discovered his Final Fight machine also had Ghosts 'n Goblins, I couldn't resist!
That game brought back some great childhood memories of renting NES games in the '80s!
She even delivered both cabinets to Mastertech Computers for FREE! In this video, we unload the machines, get them plugged in, and find room for them in the shop.
$450 for both machines, and a pretty awesome early birthday present!
Once they're cleaned up, all SIX arcade cabinets will be available for our customers to enjoy!
What's your favorite classic arcade game?

Had a customer stop by with a Samsung phone that was a complete mess! 😂

It had a bunch of cleaner apps installed, Easy Home Screen enabled, multiple PDFs, and all kinds of other junk cluttering things up.

I spent a few minutes going through the phone, removing unnecessary apps, cleaning up the home screen, and getting everything back to normal.

Didn't charge them a dime! They waited while I worked on it, and a few minutes later they were out the door with a phone that was much easier to use.

Not everything needs to be a paid repair. Sometimes it's just a quick fix, and we're happy to help!

I THINK I CAN SMELL THE RAY-BANS! 😂📦😎

Just another day behind the scenes at Mastertech Computers!

Our favorite USPS mail lady stopped by today! 📬 We hadn't seen her in a while because she's been working up in busy North Las Vegas, getting the experience she needs to become a supervisor right here in Pahrump! 👏

After catching up for a bit, we headed to the back to see what showed up in today's deliveries.

As I started opening boxes on Nick's desk, I joked, "It smells like Ray-Bans!" 😂

Sure enough... THREE pairs of Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses mailed in for repair!

We also received some replacement iPad screens and other parts to restock our inventory.

All three pairs of Ray-Bans went straight to our incoming repair bench to be checked into our ticketing system.

Nothing fancy, just a little glimpse into the everyday life of running a family-owned electronics repair shop! ❤️

📦 YES! We accept mail-in repairs nationwide!

A customer stopped by Mastertech Computers with a pile of old electronics he didn't want ending up in the trash. Old routers, a cable modem, power cables, and even a 1st-generation iPad!

He wasn't looking for money, just wanted everything properly recycled. But I spotted a Dell power adapter I knew I could resell for around $20, so I offered him $10 for it.

He was ECSTATIC! 😂💰

The funny part? He was already planning to give us everything for FREE!

We salvaged a few usable cables, set the Dell adapter aside for our repair bench, and sent the rest to our electronics recycling pile.

I even spotted a decent-looking Netgear Nighthawk router in the bunch! But we've seen enough router failures over the years that we generally avoid selling used routers. Just not worth passing a potential headache on to another customer!

Got old electronics collecting dust?

Bring them by Mastertech Computers!
