The short answer is...
As long as you hold your own private keys to your Bitcoin, you control your own digital property and do not have to worry about legislation that would require crypto companies to be licensed by the state. This is one of the important reasons we encourage all our clients to hold their own keys, and help them do so securely, using best practices.

Are you trading NFTs and unregistered securities (also known as alt-coins or sh*t-coins)? Then you might be screwed. Those companies you use, the websites, protocols, and wallets are centralized companies despite claiming they are decentralized or "DeFi". They would likely fall under the regulatory hammer currently and likely in the future if legislation gets passed. More reasons to just focus on Bitcoin!
