I am currently in the process of transferring everything to NY. Changing address on everywhere I have advertised the last 12 years is going to be a task. I will no longer be supporting local customers in the Fuquay Varina area for drop off service. I can provide remote support if needed and or possible.

I have also landed an 18 month contract as a remote support technician for a fortune 500 (Ranked 380) company, and will be working from home, so any support I provide will have limited hours that are not set yet.

As always, I will do what I can, so dont hesitate to reach out for questions, support, or anything I may be able to assist with.

Thank You.
Brian

In a few weeks, I will be relocating to upstate NY, near where I grew up. For all my local customers, I will still be able to take care of anything that you need as long as your computer gets on the internet. Remote Support is easy to setup and allows me to assist you from anywhere. I will also be quite busy, so in the next couple weeks I may or may not be available.

fun fact: the version of Windows 10 (if not updated) you had on your computer several years ago, is NOT the same as the current version. Twice a year, typically in April or May, and October there is an update that is essentially a new version of windows. When installed, it's like a brand new version, or an update. Things do change, and older hardware might run better on older versions, even though the system requirements are the same.

I don't normally like to speak negative about other companies work performance, but I have seen too many "horror story" cases from local retail businesses that also do "computer repair". I have resolved several, simple issues, just this week for people that were sold equipment they didn't need and problems they still had after service.

It has been my experience that these technology and paper company stores that have their own "computer repair" always seem to over charge customers for mediocre, or even lack of service. Big corporations do not make money on these services, it's company policy to upsell not repair. Taking in a computer to get repaired will most likely end up in being sold on new or additional equipment that is unnecessary, having more problems than when you gave it to them, or not even getting the problems resolved.

A small business is more likely to give you better service, honest evaluations and treat you like a customer and not a product. Find a local repair guy or shop in your area before you go to the corporations and fall into the money pit.

Backup, Backup, Backup... There has been several recent incidents with Windows Update wrecking the file system, and making it difficult if not unable to repair. System restore points get damaged and even removed so it's not easy to roll back changes to get it running again. File History, and System Image backups can save time, money and heartburn from loosing data. If interested, ask me about setting up a backup plan that fits your situation.
