Midway through day two of GLC, and I didn’t expect this to be the thing that stood out most — but it is.
There are 2,000 entrepreneurs in Dublin right now, and you don’t just see it in the sessions. You see it everywhere.
Walk into any pub and you’ll find them — EO members, local founders, people from all over the world — pulled into real conversations. No agenda, no surface-level small talk. Just smart, honest, interesting discussions.
It’s been fun to watch traveling entrepreneurs and locals here in Ireland mix so naturally. Different perspectives, different experiences — and somehow it just works.
And honestly, some of the best parts of this week aren’t happening in the sessions.
They’re happening in the pubs.
I’m not a beer drinker, but I’ll give it to them — Guinness does taste better here. But it’s not really about the beer.
It’s the environment.
No TVs.
No constant news cycle.
No one half-engaged while scrolling their phone.
People are actually present. Talking. Listening. Connecting.
Back home, it feels like every bar is competing for attention — screens everywhere, noise everywhere. And most of the time, people are looking anywhere but at each other.
Here, a pub is actually what it’s supposed to be — a place to connect.
Makes you wonder what would happen if we stopped designing for distraction… and started making more space for real conversation again.
