Over the last few years I have been reformatting my business and making changes in the product and service offerings that we will make in the future. Every failure is an opportunity for growth. Every success is a failure in the making. You can't be to sure that what works now will work tomorrow.
This whole reformatting experience has actually been the best thing to do for me. It has taught me alot as a person (outside of the patience) and potentially taught some other people as well in the process.
During this process I have purposely burned bridges with great thought before hand. This concept may seem alien to some but is a natural part of life here in the heartland and is known as slashing and burning. If you stayed right here with me I know your here for the right reasons and can consider you a lifer. This strategy of bridge burning seems to have paid off.
Over the last decade plus I basically lived in Peoria Illinois and missed out on alot of things personally and professionally. Heck I still haven't been living. I really don't know what that is like. Some of that is beyond my control... FOR NOW. However when I look at things from where I sit now from the land of "not living" the world looks different to me than it does others. I also discovered some issues that need to be made note of and delt with by our community as a whole together. These issues are some times called demographics by the experts in the marketing and advertising communities. This is exactly the very thing that companies target to sell their products and services.
This is great for what will be "US" in the future. We can use this data to grow and benefit. What if you got what you thought was one of those "salesy" their selling me something calls as a business owner and consumer and decided to hang up and then they said,"Hey don't hang up. I haven't introduced my self. Im your new neighbor and just wanted to say Hi and inform you of a community problem that you might not know about and I want to be the first to tell you about it. This very problem could effect your bottom line, your employees, your personal life, your investments, and negitively impact every aspect of your life. Infact it is such a high priority for me that I am telling about it before I ever mention what I'm selling."
This is exactly how I feel. Here is what most professionals won't tell you. They only mentioned this to you because they wanted to gain your trust. (No matter their Better Business Bureau rating, affiliation with the chamber of commerce, industry awards, college degrees, certifications, licensing, or Bonding)
I'm not here to tell you to trust me or even show you that I can be trusted. That isn't who I am. I am about love, knowledge, family, art, music, and community. Just like the Free Masons and The Church. I'm not here to judge people or tell them how to do things, but as a consultant I can make suggestions and if I am wrong about my suggestions...so be it. However when I'm right. That is when we can celebrate. Right now isn't a time for me to celebrate. It's time for me to do what I feel is right for me and those around me....and that is to continue what I'm doing and scale up.
8 days from now I hope to be watching and learning from various industry professionals and taking notes. The information that I learn can be shared and passed on to others. That is something that the people hosting the event I'm attending would want. And this one thing is what I will be focusing on as a business leader.
This is where the world leader comes in. I have a A team list I have made for the "whatever it is gonna be called company" I will be running with my colleagues and can't wait to finally reach out to them. Not only are these people the right people for their jobs I have them pegged for but they will feel at home and like a real family while working together.
The "B" list isn't really made up of bench warmers or second choices it's made up of people that might not have the right job right now and that is something that could be left unsaid. (like i said before I don't mind wearing my heart on my sleeve) I also have a C and D team list....and even an E. The E list is made up of artists that I would love to work with on many levels or be "friends" with. In the music world atleast even if you only shared a stage at a tiny tiny little bar in the middle of BFE you are friends for life. I can say the same for other industies. (there are many and they all require creatives and leaders)
At the "whatever it is gonna be called" we will turn I can only draw a stick figure type people into creative and essential leaders of the the future. This may be something that people deem impossible...You have heard the haters, doubters, and debunkers all say that before... There is nothing that will stop us from doing the impossible, because what seems impossible now won't be in the future.
I hope the world is ready for another Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, Mark Z, Mark and the Shark Tank cast, Sir Richard Branson, Gucci, or Shawn Carter (Jayz and founder of Rocawear).
Now you might not see anyone on this list that travels alot for work and this is for many reasons. Not only do I have a child I don't want to watch grow up over the cellphone during calls, but I don't want to travel all over the place because my passion for music became a demanding job where I'm controlled like a slave. I'm not a slave. Im a dad, artist, writer, scientist, and human trying to be a human being a human being.
