I've had numerous encounters with the Touch ID not working after screen replacements. Believe me, this bugs me a lot & hate letting customers down that there is a chance of Touch ID not working, but there are some trouble-shooting that may work. The deal is, Apple has made it difficult for 3rd-party repairers to fix iPhones because:
A. This is Apple & they don't like people fixing their priducts,
B. OEM parts from Apple are expensive (A little tip, if you buy an Apple part that is not directly from Apple Repair & says it's OEM, it's either not or a salvaged part from a broken iPhone... , or stolen). Also, I advise not to go for the cheapest replacement (Amazon & eBay), you're most likely going to buy from a 3rd party distributor. I do have certain distributors that I trust more then others. &
C. The motherboard (logic board), home button (Touch ID), & screen (digitizer) are all connected together. If you replace one thing, then the basic controls & operations will still work, but there will be a mismatch. It's a 'security' thing.
Apple has released an update solving an issue related to this earlier, but it's still difficult. I am fully confident in repairing anything, but somethings are more difficult for people trying to run a small business, especially as technology increases. I will definitely start warning others about this anytime. I will go through trouble-shooting free of charge & if you are unhappy, I will refund your money 100%. Some trouble-shooting has worked before. The last thing I want is someone unhappy. Atleast the iPhone X doesn't have a home button anymore... 😂😐
