Overview

This position will work in an electronic testing and lab environment. You will create the test plan, based on specific product requirements, set up the tests, gather data, postprocess and report back test results to Team Lead. You will be responsible for managing all the documentation of the tests, including data, reports, drawings, specs, and including the calibrations of the machines that were used.



Responsibilities

Responsible for validating charger products which include main charger, charging connector, cables and receptacle. Providing support to the power conversion lab will include but not be limited to:

Create test plan based on product requirement, software feature and FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)

Perform tests using CANape and collect data using lab equipment

Postprocess data and present to design lead

Maintain and file all company data pertaining to the test lab including procedures, technical data, reports, calibration records, wiring diagrams, equipment records etc.

Read and understand applicable requirements of regulatory bodies such as UL, CSA, and IEC



Education/Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

2+ years of related work experience



Skills Required

Hands on experience with performing testing on high voltage and power converters (e.g. 480VAC, 1000VDC, 500kW inverter/charger

Hands on experience on testing software such as CANape or Labview

Hands on experience with general lab equipment such as oscilloscope, power meter, hi-pot tester

Experience in postprocessing test data using software such as Matlab, Excel, and DataK

Basic understanding on inverters and DC/DC converters

Basic understanding on control communication network such as CAN and Ethernet

Experience in reading electrical drawings

Experience with HIL (Hardware in the Loop) is a plus.

Good communication skills (verbal and written) as well as a great attention to detail

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated mechanical engineer to create detailed engineering drawings of mechanical products, machinery, engines, components, systems, and other equipment for use by the U.S. Military. This engineer will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of products. This engineer will work with Senior Engineers, and Program/Account Managers (internally and externally). The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to advance in their career and take on more responsibilities as their capabilities increase. Because this engineer will be working with U.S. Military equipment, they are required to be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.



Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for military equipment based on customer requirements.

Create and release drawings based on engineer designs, using GD&T and customer standards. Types of drawings would include: piece part, weldments, assemblies, and group drawings.

Facilitate the release of engineering drawing packages at the direction of customer.

Will be expected to advance from detailing, to light design, and eventually in the future to over-see product line.

Support the program and account managers with customer machine and equipment requests.



Education/Experience

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) minimum

1+ years of work experience is strongly desired

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply



Skills Required

Knowledge of Creo, Teamcenter, and PRWB

CAD modeling, assembly, and drawing manipulation

Capable of creating and modifying machine parts, including sheet metal, hose assemblies, plate assemblies, etc.

Ability to complete drawing detailing

Good communication skills within the group and to external product groups at the Engineer/Designer/Detailer level

Ability to work on their own, stay engaged, stay connected while working

Able to manage a number of different projects at 1 time, manage priorities and workload

Ability to, or be trained to, support releasing

Ability to learn and grow into a releasing role

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Candidate will be responsible for conducting tests on heavy duty diesel engines in a laboratory environment. He/she will work with the engineering team to determine test criteria and proactively identify any challenges or roadblocks to test ex*****on. The candidate will be accountable to setup necessary instrumentation and data acquisition infrastructure, as well as verify that all test hardware is functioning properly to allow a safe and efficient test. He/she will be responsible for diagnosing and quickly troubleshooting any problems with the engine or the test facility. The candidate will then work with the appropriate support staff to correct any issues and complete test as scheduled. Ultimately, he/she will be responsible for generating high quality test data that will be utilized to develop world class diesel engines.

Education/Experience
Associates Degree/Certificate in Diesel or Automotive Technology
Or 1 to 3 years of progressive, relevant experience

Skills Required
Experience with engine / powertrain diagnostics or heavy equipment, troubleshooting or service
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as customers and suppliers
Commitment to safe work practices around large machinery

Skills Desired
Experience with heavy duty diesel engines or heavy equipment operation
Familiarity with engine and dynamometer testing and associated instrumentation
Familiarity with data acquisition / analysis / diagnostic tools such as Diadem or Vector CANape
Experience working on a team supporting projects related to engine product development
Proficiency with diesel engine operating parameters to better diagnose system malfunctions
